ohmmeter or a multi meter, and the unit
used for resistance is ohm.”

“Very well said Mr./Ms.____________. Yes,

lastly we tackled about the instruments
used to check electrical parameters. And
the example of Mr./Ms._________ is correct.”

B. Motivation
“Before we go deeper in our discussion. “Yes Sir!”
Let us have first an activity. But first, I'd
like you to give me these three important
things. It is T, A, and E rather than TAE.
Okay class?

"The first one is T, which stands for time. “Yes Sir!”

I'd appreciate it if you could all give me
some of your time. Your time to listen to
me as we discuss everything over a period
of time. Is that clear?”
“Yes Sir!”
"The next letter is A, which stands for
Attention and Active Participation.  I want
you all to pay attention and participate
actively during our class hour, especially
during our discussion period, because you
all know I am an attention seeker. So, class,
just pay attention to our discussion and
don't forget to look at my adorable smiling
face. Is that clear?"
“Yes Sir!”
“Lastly is letter E, which stands for effort."
Give me your best effort to listen, learn,
and embrace our discussion today.
Because all of your efforts might make me
happy and give me the impression that
you are interested in my class. Is that
clear? ” “Yes Sir!”

”So now, are you ready for our activity?”

“Our activity for today is entitled

Pictionary. We will be using the Wordwall
platform for our short activity.”

“Here is the instruction, I will show one
picture at a time and each of you must guess
what the picture means according to the
jumbled letters presented in the platform.”

“When I utter the word ‘Pictionary’, you

are going to click the raised hand button as
fast as you can. The student who will click “Yes Sir!”
the raised hand button first is the one who
can answer the jumbled letters. If the
student didn’t get the correct answer, the
other students have a chance to answer
and get the point/s.”

“The three students who will make on the

top of our leader board will be the winners “Yes Sir!”
of 10, 20, and 50 pesos worth of load.”

“Are you ready class?”

(After the activity)

“Congratulations to all the winners. Okay, I

will message the top 3 in the leader board “Yes Sir!”
after our class to claim their prizes.”

“Did you enjoy the activity?”

“Thank you very much for your

participation. What we've just had has
something to do with our lesson for
today.”

C. Lesson Presentation
"Today, we'll talk about a Formula.  Ohm's
Law: Definitions of Voltage, Current, and
Resistance is today's topic. I hope you
maintain your interest in our lesson until
the end of our period.”

“Okay class, who among you knows (Students will click the raise hand button)
something about Ohm's Law? Just click the
raise hand button if you want to recite for
you to be recognized.”

“Very well said Mr./Ms.____________. Yes it is

true that Ohm's law is used to compute the
voltage, current and resistance. But before
we proceed to that Formula. Let us first
define Voltage, Current and Resistance.”
“Yes Sir!”
"So class during our virtual discussion
please avoid unnecessary movements to
prevent minor injuries. Always put in your
mind that prevention is better than cure so
always put safety first. Did I make myself
clear class?” “Voltage is the amount of potential energy
between two points.”
“Okay, let's proceed. First one, Voltage.
Kindly read Mr. /Ms.________.”

“Voltage is the amount of potential energy

between two points. Meaning voltage is
the measure of the push on each electron
which makes the electron move. This
pushing force is what we called potential
difference or electromotive force.” “Yes Sir!”

“Class do you know what are magnets

right?” (Students will click the raise hand button)

“Do you have an idea what is the

connection of magnets on the voltage?
“Sir I think voltage is like magnets that

attracts and repels.”
“Yes Mr./Ms.______________.”

“Very good idea Mr./Ms.__________.

“As what Mr./Ms._________ said that voltage

is like magnets that attracts and repel, we
all know that magnets with not the same
polarity will attract each other but
magnets with the same polarity will repel
from each other. The same with two
electrons it always repel each other.
Assume that electrons are always angry
and they don't like each other so they
always repel each other. This repelling or
“Yes Sir!"
the pushing force is what we called the
voltage.” (Students will click the raise hand button)
“Do you understand class?’

“Assume that we put more electrons on a “The more electrons put in a battery will
box or what we called the battery. What do have greater amount of voltage Sir.”
you think will happen?”

“Yes Mr./Ms. ____________.”

“Very good Mr./Ms._________. Simple as that,

the more electrons the higher the voltage
or the greater the amount of voltage. It is
because when there are more electrons, it
will cause more pushing force and we all
know that this pushing force is the voltage. “Yes Sir!”
So it is simply, more electrons or electrons
repelling movement will cause the voltage Current is the rate at which charge is

“Did I make myself clear class?”

Next one kindly read. Yes,

Mr./Ms.______________.

“Thank you Mr./Ms._______. If a voltage

exists across a complete conducting path
or what we called circuit electrons will
flow and this flow of electron is what we
called Current. The unit used to measure “Yes Sir!”
current is called ampere namely after one
of the pioneer on the study of electricity,
Andre Ampere.

“Are you with me class?

“As mention earlier, in a battery, electrons

repel from each other. And when the
voltage increases, the pressure will also “Yes Sir!”
increase. Whenever these electrons get
along to move outside, they flow out and “Resistance is the material's tendency to

current.”
“Yes Sir!”
“Is it clear class?”

“Lastly, Resistance. Kindly read. Mr./Ms.

___________.”
“Yes Sir!”
“Meaning resistance is simply as its name
implies, from the word resist. So resistance
is the opposition to the current flow in a

circuit or path. Do you understand class?”

“Take a look on this picture, from the first

picture we will notice that the lower the “Ohm's Law - is developed by Bavarian
resistance is the higher the amount of Scientist named George Simmon Ohm. The
current will flow and on the second symbol omega (Ω) is used to represent

lower the amount of current will flow. Is it
clear to you class?

“After knowing the definition of voltage,

current, and resistance we will go now to
the definition of the Ohm's Law. Kindly
read Mr./Ms. _______________.”

“Class, Ohm’s law is not just a formula but (Students will click the raise hand button)
it is used repeatedly throughout the circuit
course because it explains the basic
interrelationship of voltage, current and “Sir, I think that picture explains the
resistance. And Ohms Law is developed by connection of voltage, current, and
George Simmon Ohm and we used the resistance”
Greek letter omega to represent ohms.”

“Take a look on this picture. What did you

notice?”

“Yes Mr./Ms._________________.”

“Very good Mr.?Ms.________. This picture

explains the connection or the relationship
of the of voltage, current, and resistance”

“Simply on the picture is the Ohm's Law

showing the relationship of voltage,
current and resistance. So the amount of “Yes Sir!”
current through the material varies
directly or directly proportional with the
applied voltage. This means that the when
voltage increases, the flow of current will
also increases. Doubling the voltage will
double the current; half the voltage will
half the current.”
“Yes Sir!”
“Is it clear class?”

“Next one is, Current varies inversely or

inversely proportional to resistance which
means in the resistance increases, the
current flow will decreases or vice versa.
That is the relationship of the three.”

Pangasinan State University

Lingayen Campus
Pangasinan State University
Region’s Premier University of Choice

“Did I make myself clear class?”

“Let us go now with the formula of the

Ohm’s Law. Combining the elements of the
three, I have here the magic triangle,
where V is for voltage, I for current, and R
for resistance. Also from this triangle, we
can create formulas in getting the voltage,
current, and resistance.”

“Where V is voltage in volts, I for current

in amperes, and R for resistance in ohms. If
the voltage is required you will just cover
the letter V which represents the voltage. “Yes Sir!”
The horizontal line under letter V
represents division and the vertical line
between letter I and R represents
multiplication”

“As we cover the letter V, we have now

created an equation in getting voltage and
“Yes Sir!”
that is current multiplied by the resistance
or simply V = I x R.”

“Did you get it class?

“Next when the current is required, just

cover the letter I that represents “Yes Sir!”
current so we created an equation of
voltage divided by the resistance or
simply I = V ÷ R.” “1. Figure 1 shows a situation wherein
voltage is the unknown factor. In this case
“Can you follow class? you know that I = 4A and R = 50Ω from the
schematic diagram.”
“Lastly when resistance is requires, just
cover the letter R that represents (Students will click the raise hand button)
resistance so we created an equation of
voltage divided by current or simply R
= V ÷ I.” “Sir, voltage is the required.”

“Is it clear class?” “V = I x R.”

“Okay if it is clear with you all class, let us

have practice problems. Practice problem
#1 kindly read Mr./Ms.__________.”

“From the schematic diagram what is

required?”

Pangasinan State University

Lingayen Campus
Pangasinan State University
Region’s Premier University of Choice

“Yes Mr./Ms.____________.”

“And then what is the formula in getting

the voltage?” (The student who will called will answer
the problem)
“Very good Mr./Ms._____________.”

“So the amount of current is 4 ampere (I

= 4A) multiplied by the amount of
resistance which is 50 ohms (R=50 Ω)
and we can get the 200V as the amount
of the voltage. Remember class, do not
forget to write the unit used. Volt for
voltage, Ampere for current, and Ohm
for resistance which represents by the
Greek letter omega Ω.”

“Let’s proceed to number 2. Figure 2

shows a situation wherein current is
the unknown factor. In this case you
know that V = 80 volts and R = 40 Ω “Yes Sir!”
from the schematic diagram.”

“Okay let us do a random pick through my

Spin the Wheel application on my screen.
Let us have Mr./Ms.________. Get your paper
and pen and solve the given problem.

“Let’s check the answer of

Mr./Ms._______. The required is current
and we have a given of 80 volts and 40
ohms. The formula in getting current is
I = V ÷ R and 80 volts divided by 40
ohms is equal to 2 ampere.”
