    The Working Families Party is prioritizing strengthening rent and eviction proctions for more than 1,000,000 working families. New York City needs control of our own rent laws back. We had it in 1971, and things were working fine. The state legislature has control of NYC's rent laws, for God's sake get it right.

    STATEMENT FROM KENNY SCHAEFFER

    WORKING FAMILIES PARTY

    Having achieved success raising the state minimum wage fro $5.15/hr to a slightly less shameful
    $7.15, reform of Rockefeller drug laws, and enactment of progressive taxation, among many
    other issues, the Working Families Party is now prioritizing strengthening rent and eviction
    proctions for more than 1,000,000 working families.

    New York City needs control of our own rent laws back. We had it in 1971, and things were
    working fine. There were a million rent controlled apartments, and the median rent was
    $215/month. We need control of our rent and eviction laws back but as long as the state
    legislature has control of NYC's rent laws, for God's sake get it right!

    No rent laws, no votes!
