CALL FOR PAPERS

Advanced Statistics & Applied Sciences

RAMANUJAN COLLEGE
Ramanujan College is a constituent College of the University of Delhi

(DU). It is inspired by the life and work of Srinivasa Aiyangar

Ramanujan, one of the world’s greatest mathematicians. The College

was established in 1958 as an evening college for boys with just five

programmes. Since 2010, Ramanujan College has been expanding

and now with the latest addition of B.Sc. Environmental Sciences

(Hons) in 2020, it at present offers sixteen undergratuate

programmes in different disciplines. This achievement, in alignment to

the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020,

makes the College a centre for interdisciplinary studies and research

with a future focus on blended learning. It has gradually grown into a

self-sufficient and self-reliant institution owing to its academic vigour

and intellectual capital.

DEPARTMENT OF STATISTICS
The Department of Statistics, Ramanujan College was established in

July 2013. The Department has a well-equipped computer lab where

the students get the opportunity and space to connect theoretical

knowledge with practical learning.

The Department aims to produce potential graduates having sound

knowledge of major statistical tools and techniques that can be

applied in various domains of research areas like biological sciences,

mathematical sciences, management sciences and data sciences.

Better understanding of this interdisciplinary subject will result into

fruitful outcomes for the betterment of science and society.

Further, the Department intends to prepare graduates to pursue

career choices in different fields like Statistical Quality Control, Bio-

Statistics, Sampling Techniques, Life Testing and Industrial Statistics

among many others. The larger objective is to occupy a significant

place in the field of statistical education by offering distinguished,

effective and on-going opportunities to the students and faculties in

the domain of theoretical and applied statistics.

RAMANUJAN CENTRE FOR APPLIED

MATHEMATICS AND RESEARCH
The college is named after Srinivasa Aiyangar Ramanujan, the

greatest mathematician our country ever had. His life is a lesson for

every youth on how sheer determination can help overcome every

obstacle and help one reach the pinnacle in their field of study. To

continue the Legacy of Srinivasa Ramanujan, the college established

Ramanujan Centre for Applied Mathematics and Research in July

2012. This centre aims to expose students to various areas in

mathematics other than those prescribed in the syllabus. The centre

has its own library, which has a very good collection of textbooks,

reference books. The centre organizes various interdisciplinary

lectures to familiarize students with the potentialities of the field. The

events conducted by the centre are not only restricted to academia

but also aims to highlight the creative skills of the student.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The discipline of statistical analysis is an emerging field of research

having enormous applications in core areas with its allied sectors. The

area of statistical computing is one such domain which is developing

into a zone of immense applications, prospects and research.

This objective of the two-day national conference on Advanced

Statistics and Applied Sciences is to being together researchers,

statisticians, industry experts to deliberate upon the emerging areas

in the field of statistics and applied sciences and share their latest

observations and research and engage in collaborative knowledge

creation.
