What is Preeclampsia?

Preeclampsia is a pregnancy complication characterized by high


blood pressure and signs of damage to another organ system, most
often the liver and kidneys.

How is Preeclampsia Diagnosed?

PROTENURIA
Blood pressure
High levels of protein
140 that exceeds
90 in the Urine; Kidney
140/90 mmHG
complication

HELLP SYNDROME
Swelling of the
Breakdown of Red
extremities and
Blood Cells and Liver
water retention
complications

Other signs and symptoms:

Decreased urine Severe headaches Abdominal pain and Vision problems Shortness of breath
output vomting such as blurry vision

If you experience any of the symptoms above.


Contact your phycisian immediately or go directly
to the hospital.
