What can you conclude about Henri Matisse's thoughts about color as stated

in his
journal?
As to what I have read in Matisse’s journal, he wants to emphasize that colors should
have a living harmony in every artwork since the main function of it is to serve
expression or to allow a person to express his emotions. However, it is not in a
systematic way but rather, in a sensational technique, because Matisse does not follow
any rules. Due to the fact that he has a place in his heart for colors, he created a new
style of pure color and the white of the exposed canvas to create a luminous
atmosphere, which is called “Fauvism” or “Fauve Painting” When Matisse created a new
piece of artwork, he carefully aligned virtually every element in that specific picture
through the separate and distinct brush strokes, and variety of colors applied or in a
monochrome color. The variety of colors used or the monochrome colors are based on
his inspired feelings or emotions during that time while making that specific artwork.
Therefore, Matisse has a unique way about the thoughts of colors unlike, the other
artists who would base the colors of their artworks in a color wheel created by a French
scientist named, Michel Chevreul
