of system design and related services industry. I am extremely thankful to all those who have
shared their expertise and knowledge with me and without whom the completion of this
project would have been virtually impossible.

 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Amar Ujala is one of the leading Hindi Dailies in India. According to IRS (Indian Leadership
Survey) Q4, it is the third largest hindi daily by readership. An understanding of state affairs
of the print industry was attained. During the organizational study the organizational structure
including the organizational structure and the departmental structure were studied. An insight
as to how a newspaper organization work was learned. It was fruitful expirence

The organization follows a tall structure with multiple levels. This structure supports a
organizational process. Amar Ujala has 11 departments which cater to the needs of the
organization. The 11 departments include Human resource development, finance department,
marketing department, editorial department, production department, materials department, IT
and systems department, print shop department, touch point, books and magazine division
and internal audit. The major reason for the success of Amar Ujala is because it thrives upon
delivering unbiased and truthful and authentic news to its readers. Another reason for the
success of the organization is its low attrition rate. It show the organization caters to the
needs of the employee. thOne of the major weakness of Amar Ujala is that it has no adequate
representation in south India. Tight competition from the cheap and readily available online
media is a major threat.
