1. Why is there a need of computer in science research?

-Computers used in scientific research have the ability to analyze data in ways and at speeds not
possible with the human eye

2. Discuss the truth of information age.

-The Information Age (also known as the Computer Age, Digital Age, or New Media Age) is a historical
period that began in the mid-20th century, characterized by a rapid epochal shift from traditional
industry established by the Industrial Revolution to an economy primarily based upon information
technology.

3. What are the different types of computer, define each.

-Supercomputer – a powerful computer that can process large amounts of data and do a great amount
of computation very quickly.

Mainframe computer – a high-performance computer used for large information processing jobs.

Minicomputer – a mid-range computer that is intermediate in size, power, speed, storage capacity, etc.,
between a mainframe and a microcomputer

Personal computer (PC) – a small computer designed for use by a single user at a time

Laptop computer (or notebook) – A portable personal computer that is small enough to rest on the
user’s lap and can be powered by a battery. It includes a flip down screen and a keyboard with a
touchpad

Tablet – A wireless touchscreen PC that is slightly smaller and weighs less than the average laptop

Smartphone – A mobile phone that performs many of the functions of a personal computer

4. State the quality of information provided on the website.

-perceived information quality refers to consumer's overall judgment and evaluation of the quality of
information, assessed by the degree of accuracy, informativeness, timeliness, and relevancy of
information provided by the website.
