Ms.

Veena Agrawal
Senior Analyst
JPMC
Santracruz east, Mumbai
My name is Kushagri Mangal, currently pursuing MBA from IIM Trichy, a BMS graduate with
specialization in finance looking for an internship in finance. As a student at IIM Trichy, I am ecstatic
to be applying for this post. I believe that an internship at JPMC would be a reasonable next step in
my career.

Having seen my father as a businessman who manufactures pre-cast concrete products and my
mother who often trades in the stock market, I developed an early inclination in going down the
same road of running a business and trying to understand the workings of the financial market. This
motivated me to take an internship in a brokerage firm in the 2nd year of my graduation where I
learned about the basics of trading stocks and shares. Recently I have pursued a beginner financial
markets course from NCFM modules to improve my knowledge on it.

The first time I got an inclination in finance was when I read a chapter on financial management and
markets in business studies and got to understand leverage, debt-equity ratio, and EPS (earning per
share) which was really interesting. Management as a career has always attracted me in the way that
it provides a comprehensive understanding of the corporate world where you can learn from diverse
experiences of people all over the country and acquire knowledge and skills from an experienced
and learned faculty and industry experts.

Watching all my family members run their own business, I have the same long-term goal of running
my business one day, but to first get enough skills and experience to work with challenges under a
growing company. Pursuing a Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) was in line with my goals and
it honed my skills and introduced me to new ones. Doing internships, projects and presentations
improved my communication and presentation skills and taught me the value of effective
communication.

My graduation in management studies taught me some elementary knowledge of various business-

related subjects which compelled me towards understanding the practical standpoint of these
concepts. An MBA would be the perfect stepping-stone towards achieving this goal where I can learn
and experience as much I can and gain expertise in the specific field I want to. I developed an
inclination towards finance from the 12 th grade, when we were taught the very basics of financial
management.

I believe management is about being able to bring out the best in your colleagues/subordinates in a
team and being a good leader is an essential part of it. In 2-3 years, I would like to see myself
working in a financial institution which can give me the opportunity to grow and challenge my skills
and experience, where I can contribute effectively to the organisation by being an effective and
efficient leader and in the long term, give back to the society in any way I can by applying and
sharpening my skills. A rigorous two-year MBA course is the most effective way to achieving this
goal.

Sincerely,

Kushagri Mangal
