His Word Brings Healing (Supernatural Sunday)

God Works Through His Word

God created all things by the power released through His spoken Word.
We are familiar with the following Scriptures which we quickly mention:

Genesis 1:1-3
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3 Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.

Psalm 33:6 By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, And all the host of them
by the breath of His mouth.
Psalm 33:9 For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.

Hebrews 11:3
By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the
things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

Not only did God create everything by His Word but His Word continues to sustain,
uphold and regulate everything.

Hebrews 1:3 ...upholding all things by the word of His power,...

God’s Word Heals

God heals through many different ways. We see in Scripture that God heals through His
Word.

Psalm 107:20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their
destructions.

The Bible teaches us that the Word of God has healing power and releases God’s healing
to our whole body.

God instructs us to listen to His Word, keep our focus on His Word and keep His Word in
our hearts for it to be life and health to our entire body.

Proverbs 4:20-22
20 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;
22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.

Jesus Taught And Healed

When we examine the earthly ministry of Jesus, we understand that the Lord Jesus
ministered healing and deliverance in several ways. There were times He did unusual
things like making clay and applying it to a blind man’s eyes, etc. But these seemed to be
exceptions.

One of the primary ways Jesus ministered is to teach the Word and then minister to
people in response to their faith. We know faith comes through hearing the Word.

Matthew 4:23-24
23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, TEACHING in their synagogues, PREACHING the
gospel of the kingdom, and HEALING all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease
among the people.
24 Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people
who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-
possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.

Matthew 9:35
Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, TEACHING in their synagogues,
PREACHING the gospel of the kingdom, and HEALING every sickness and every disease
among the people.

We observe in the ministry of Jesus that as He taught the people, healings and
deliverances happened. As He taught miracles the people miracles followed.

John 6:63
The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

God’s Word are spirit and life. The administer the life of God’s Spirit to us.

People Came To Hear And To Be Healed

Luke 5:15
However, the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes
came together to HEAR, and to be HEALED by Him of their infirmities.

Luke 6:17-19
17 And He came down with them and stood on a level place with a crowd of His
disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and from the
seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to HEAR Him and be HEALED of their diseases,
18 as well as those who were tormented with unclean spirits. And they were healed.
19 And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and
healed them all.

We observe in the ministry of Jesus that people came to hear and to be healed. Jesus
taught first and then ministered to them.

We must learn to do the same these days. Sometimes, we may need to hear more than
just one sermon on healing. We may need to sit and listen until doubts are dispelled,
fears are cast away, wrong ideas are replaced with the truth and faith builds in our
hearts for us to receive from God. There are times, just one Word, inspires faith and
when we act on that Word we are healed.

The Lame Man At Lystra

Acts 14:8-10
8 And in Lystra a certain man without strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from his
mother's womb, who had never walked.
9 This man HEARD Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had
faith to be HEALED,
10 said with a loud voice, "Stand up straight on your feet!" And he leaped and
walked.

Here is a great example where a man heard the Word and faith was ignited in his heart.
Then he was encouraged to act on his faith and as he did healing was manifested.

Receive His Word And Be Healed

This morning we desire to remind us about God’s healing Word and let faith rise in our
hearts. As we hear the Word, faith will be ignited. Faith causes the power of the God in
the Word to be released and healing will manifest in our bodies and minds.

Exodus 15:26
…For I am the LORD who heals you.

Exodus 23:25-26
25 "So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your
water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.
26 No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of
your days.

Psalm 103:2-3
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:
3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,

Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

James 5:14-15
14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them
pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he
has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

SALVATION CALL
If you ask, does God love me? We can tell you what the Bible says: John 3:16, Romans

If you ask, how can I have my sins forgiven? We can tell you what the Bible says: Acts

If you ask, what is the way to God? We can tell you what the Bible says: John 14:6

If you ask, where can I find salvation? We can tell you what the Bible says: Acts 4:12
If you ask, what must I do to experience salvation? We can tell you what the Bible says:
Acts 16:30-31
