THREE-DAY SEMINAR WORKSHOP ON MIXED METHODS ACTION


RESEARCH FOR TEACHERS OF CATARMAN III DISTRICT: A LEARNING AND
DEVELOPMENT EMPOWERING PROGRAM

1. This office announces the conduct of a Three- day Seminar Workshop on Action
Research Program for Teachers on Mixed Methods on April 27-29, 2022. STEM
Building, Catarman National High School, Catarman Northern Samar.

2. This Seminar- Workshop is initiated as face to face Learning and Development program by
Catarman III District pursuant to the provisions DepEd Order No. 16, s. 2017 better known as
Research Management Guidelines and in support of the Department’s Policy Development
Process, Research Agenda and Program Development and Implementation, which continues
to promote and strengthen the culture of research in basic education.

3. This activity specifically aims to;

1. Enhance knowledge and skills in the development and conduct of mixed methods
action research;
2. Craft workable mixed methods action research proposal;
3. Develop appreciation in the principles and tenets in writing action research and
the utilization of school-based action research results as potential inputs to
intervention in the classroom.
4. Ensure that all participants are familiar with the provisions of DepEd Order No.
43, s. 2015 DepEd Order No. 4, s. 2016; and DepEd Order No. 16, s. 2017.
5. Develop within the teachers the culture of research writing.

4. Participants to this activity are master teachers and teachers of Catarman III District of
Division Northern Samar. Please see Enclosure B Program Management Staff /List of
Participants. They are required to identify problems, challenges and issues in their
respective classroom, workplace that can be used as basis for their Action Research. They are
also directed to come before time since this is a live out program and bring along with them
the following:
4.1 Wifi/mobile data if possible
4.2 Laptop
4.3 USB
4.4 Extension wire
5. Members of the Program Management Staff (PMS) / Facilitators are directed to be at the
venue the day before the training for the ocular inspection of the venue as well as for the
preparation of training materials to be used during the training program.

6. All the members of the Program Management staff and participants in this program shall
be required to present their vaccination cards upon registration. The participants shall strictly
observe physical distancing and public health and safety standards at all times during the
conduct of the training program.

7. All participants must be at the venue 8:00 – 5:00 pm. Expenses such as venue,
accommodation, meals and snacks of the participants and the members of the Program
Management Staff, training materials, and speakers / facilitators honorarium shall be charged
against MOOE Funds, subject to their availability and the usual accounting and auditing rules
and regulations.

8. This memorandum serves as Authority to Travel of the participants, admin/logistics/


technical or training support personnel as well as the other members of the training
team/management.

9. Immediate and wide dissemination of the compliance with this Memorandum is directed.
