TITLE: Design of Horn Antenna.

AIM: To Design Rectangular Horn Antenna for given specifications and observe the
following:
1. Gain
2. Beam width
3. Side lobes and back lobes
4. Main lobe direction

OUTCOME: 1) Student will be able design microwave transmission lines and matching
techniques.

Design statement: Design Rectangular Horn Antenna for frequency of fo = 4 GHz

andobserve results from 4-7 GHz

Select WR229 WG with following specifications:

Frequency range: 3.3 – 4.9
GHz fc = 2.57GHz
Broader Dimension (a) = 58mm
Shorter Dimension (b) =29mm
Length of WG = 20 mm
Material: Vacuum
Mode of operation: TE10

(Comments on observations)

In this Experiment using CST software Rectangular horn antenna for given
specification was designed for TE10 mode. Gain, beam width, main lobes and back
lobes and their direction was observed. Directivity was maximum in main lobe
detection.
