Carjacking an elderly woman

An incident took place in New Orleans on Monday where four teenagers were found carjacking
and dragging an elderly woman for more than a block, resulting in her death.

Details about the teenagers

WVUE has stated that the details of the four teenagers are not publicly released, but according
to the news available, one of the four is a boy who was just 17 years old, whereas the other
three were girls, in which one was 16 other two were 15 years old.

Actions against the teenagers

As of now, police had informed that the four teenagers had been taken into custody, but no
more information has been shared yet.

People were against carjacking.

Last month, in New Orleans, where this incident happened, a mom created a magnet for her
car, stating that "Don't carjack me, kids, inside".

The teenagers were warned in advance.

WDSU has reported that the teenagers were warned in advance by at least one of the
passersby that the older woman was being dragged.

Teenagers were reckless

The passerby, who was the witness, added by saying that the teenagers were careless and the
carjacking as reckless.

Details of the elderly woman


The woman who is the victim was Linda Frickey, who was 73 years old. While the investigation
was going on, her sister-in-law, Kathy Richard, said to WDSU that Frickey was a very good
person, and this would not have happened to her.
Words of the area resident

The area resident stated to WDSU that he also got out of his vehicle and started screaming out
at them to stop; he even added that they had no care for human beings.

What will be done next?

The police department responsible for New Orleans informed that they will host a news
conference later to provide the updates. They also added that all the people related to the case
are asked to call the NOPD Homicide Unit.
