 MEET OUR PANEL OF JUDGES

Anita Barone headed to Los Angeles after graduating with a BFA from University of Detroit and
an MFA from Wayne State University in Michigan. Three days later she was cast as a regular on SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL WHO MAKE
a comedy series with Carol Burnett. Since then she has been a regular on eight other TV series DISTINGUISHED YOUNG WOMEN OF
and has starred in a dozen films. She has also guest starred on television shows including:
Friends, Seinfeld, Curb your Enthusiasm, Parenthood, Desperate Housewives & Castle. She

donates much of her time to non-profit organizations. Anita has written, produced & directed
many comical, yet instructional videos.

market films across social media. She now is a Sr Strategy Manager at HBO Max Originals Nancy Kaufman Cornwell
Marketing. She has also volunteered with Distinguished Young Women of Los Angeles County Eileen Kim

Jessica Medrano

Nancy Kaufman Cornwell has been dancing since the age of 11. She was accepted to the
prestigious High School of Performing Arts in New York City and went on to study dance in Paris
and at the University of London majoring in theater arts. After graduation, she was accepted at
the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City where she studied with Sanford Meisner.
Eventually landing back in Los Angeles, she was immediately cast as a ‘Fly Girl’ on Fox’s
Townsend Television, and has appeared as an actress or dancer in many productions. In 2008,
Nancy helped form the successful reality casting company Cornwell Casting Inc, which has
gone on to cast over 300 shows.
VOLUNTEERS
Distinguished Young Women is proud to have the support of over
17,000 volunteers throughout the country. These individuals
are the heart and soul of our program. It’s their time, energy,
and love that help make a difference!

Eileen Kim is originally from Minnesota but found her home in California after graduating from Samara Anderson Kady Bennett Barb Burja
Chapman University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, international Mallory Chen Theresa Chen Queen Chiwanga
emphasis; and a minor in music. She has been playing the violin for 21 years and after studying Benicia Crooms Gretchen Douglass Tonia Entous
under the tutelage of esteemed violinists at Colburn Conservatory and the University of Esther Feng Lisa Lawley Burnette Joey Leon
Minnesota; she became a teacher and concertmaster of five different orchestras. She is a Debra Lewin Jessica Medrano Rebekah Peltz
strong advocate for mental health awareness and has spent much of the past few years as a Courtney Pulver Allison Seedorf Heather Smith
professional speaker on this topic, including in a TEDxTalk. Eileen will be pursuing her J.D. while Teressa Syta Nikki Woo
continuing her career with the intellectual property group at a national law firm. She is a
Distinguished Young Women alum, having represented Los Angeles County at the California
program.

Kim Schroeder Long is a professional actor-singer who has appeared in theatrical productions, Be a part of helping the young women of Los Angeles County

portrayal of Rosemary Clooney in the biographical musical "Tenderly" and her voice is featured
on the cast recording. Most recently, she brought Judy Garland to life in The Carnegie Theatre’s
acclaimed production of "End of the Rainbow", and returned to grad school to pursue a degree in
Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Kim also spent over a decade working in the visual arts,
achieving international recognition for her award-winning photojournalism. She is a
