Virtual Symposium for Project ACDFS (Advocacy Campaign for a
Drug Free School) of the National Drug Education Program

16 Online students.
4 Advisers of different grade level with online class.
20 Teachers.
V. Rationale
It is the policy of the State to safeguard the well-being of its Citizenry, particularly the
youth from the harmful effects of dangerous drugs on their physical and mental well-being as
stated in RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). The State needs to enhance
further the efficacy of the Law, considering that the Philippines was one of the countries in the
South East Asia-Pacific Region greatly affected by dangerous drugs, The National Government
thru the Department of Education promotes the National Drug Education Program (DepEd
Memorandum no.200 s. 2016, Strengthening the National Drug Education Program in Schools).
It is designed as a preventive education and information program to counter the dangers and
disastrous effects of drug abuse.
The Department of Education as an institution of learning, continuously works to have an
environment that is safe to the teachers and most especially to the learners. DepEd aims to
strengthen the National Drug Education Program, develop skills and understanding among
learners and teachers in initiating active responses for a drug-free school. Jose Panganiban
National High School community support and sustain the anti-drug advocacy of DepEd/National
Government in promoting awareness and social responsibility among students.

VI. Objectives

This training primarily intended to capacitate teachers in strengthening preventive drug

education activities inside the school, specifically it aims to;
A. Reorient teachers and students on the classification of drugs, Prevention of Drugs Mis-
Use and Abuse, Depressants and Hallucinogens;
B. Reorient teachers and students on DepEd Memoranda/Orders issued to ensure the
effective implementation of the National Drug Education Program (NDEP), which aims to
develop well-rounded learners equipped with resistance skills against risky behaviors that could
lead to substance use and abuse; and
C. Integrate NDEP in lessons for values formation of students and to promote a drug-free
school.
VII. Project Description and Mechanics
The training will be conducted Google Meet. Virtual sessions will run for 8hrs for each day.
Slide Deck presentations and audio-visuals learning resources will be used to provide the

participants with the target training deliverables. Workshop and critiquing technique will be also
be employed to ensure that essential target outputs will be realized. Training activities will be
managed by the Technical Working Group and will strictly follow schedules to meet the time
requirements (see attached & Enclosure No. 2 – Organization and Management and Enclosure
no. 3 – Training Matrix)

VIII. Budget
The cost of this activity is P1,170.00. Expenses for this undertaking will be charged against
School INSET Fund/ School MOOE. (see attached Enclosure No.1)

X. Expected Output of the Project
1. Knowledgeable students and teachers on prevention of mis-use and abuse of prohibited
drugs.
2. NDEP ideas were integrated in lessons prepared by teachers;
3. Improve students awareness and advocacy against illegal drugs.
XI. Monitoring and Evaluation
A. Monitor the activities of NDEP Virtual Symposium-Orientation.
B. Consolidate and prepare reports on the result of symposium.
C. Evaluate the result and impact achieved by the virtual orientation.
