PRODUCTION OF HOME-BASED POULTRY FEEDS FOR


AGRIPRENEURS

The Department of Agricultural Economics and Business (DAEB), University of Dar es Salaam is
pleased to invite Undergraduates’ students, Post graduates’ students, Research fellows, CoAF Staff
members, and any other interested individuals to participate on “Production of Home-based
animal/poultry feeds for Agripreneurs” training to be held on 26th March 2022 at the University of
Dar es Salaam. The training will be offered by trainers with a vast of experiences in the field of Animal
Science.
This training will be delivered through a mix of interactive lectures and practical sessions. Specifically,
this course will increase participants’ ability on feed formulation using different techniques.

This training is expected to impart knowledge to the trainees’ on;


 Reasons for animal home-made feeds/rations,
 Types on animal feeds,
 Classification of animal feedstuff ingredients basing on their
richness in terms of nutrients they supply to meet animal
nutritional requirements
 Factors to consider prior to feed formulation, and
 Important tips on animal feed formulation

Participants will take part in practical compounding of chicken


feeds (layers mash) using different feedstuff ingredients.
