CODE OF THE WARRIOR

1. Honor
a. Hebrew means to be heavy, heavy with responsibility, heavy with accountability
b. To live life in front of the world and God, doing the right thing
c. Honor expresses itself in our relationship with others
d. Honor follows your heart, and your heart follows God
e. Refusal to morally compromise
f. “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” Colossians
3:2
g. God makes it clear in Scripture that we are to be “in” this world and not “of” it. To love
the things of this world is to be an enemy of God (James 4:4, 1 John 2). When we set
our minds on this world, we quickly become men of compromise.
h. You cannot will yourself to be a man of honor, it is something you are, and only God can
make you that way.
2. Humility
a. the quality or condition of being humble; modest opinion or estimate of one's own
importance, rank, etc.
b. “Humility is the fear of the LORD; its wages are riches and honor and life.” Prov. 22:4
c. “But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.” Matt. 19:30
d. This is once again the Great Reversal: Many who are first will end up last, and
the last first." Mark 10:31.(Message Bible)
e. James and John, Zebedee's sons, came up to him. "Teacher, we have something we
want you to do for us." 36 "What is it? I'll see what I can do." 37 "Arrange it," they said,
"so that we will be awarded the highest places of honor in your glory - one of us at your
right, the other at your left." 38 Jesus said, "You have no idea what you're asking. Are
you capable of drinking the cup I drink, of being baptized in the baptism I'm about to be
plunged into?" 39 "Sure," they said. "Why not?" 40 But as to awarding places of honor,
that's not my business. There are other arrangements for that." 41 When the other ten
heard of this conversation, they lost their tempers with James and John. 42 Jesus got
them together to settle things down. "You've observed how godless rulers throw their
weight around," he said, "and when people get a little power how quickly it goes to their
heads. 43 It's not going to be that way with you. Whoever wants to be great must
become a servant. 44 Whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave. 45 That
is what the Son of Man has done: He came to serve, not to be served - and then to give
away his life in exchange for many who are held hostage." Mark 10:35-45
3. Wisdom
a. The quality or state of being wise; knowledge of what is true or right coupled with just
judgment as to action; sagacity, discernment, or insight.
b. Wisdom is extremely important to God and mentioned all through the Bible. You can be
the smartest person in the world, and yet have no wisdom.
c. Wisdom is a “spirit”—a characteristic of God in the form of the Holy Spirit—see Isaiah
11 describing spirits(the spirit of the Lord, wisdom, understanding, counsel, power,
knowledge and the spirit of the fear of the Lord.

1
d. Wisdom is much different than knowledge. Knowledge is information only. Wisdom
takes in the information and understands what it means in the context at hand—and it
is a spiritual gift God wants each of us to seek and have, as doing so aligns us with God.
e. “Start with God - the first step in learning is bowing down to God; only fools thumb their
noses at such wisdom and learning” Prov. 1:7
f. ’And here's why: God gives out Wisdom free, is plainspoken in Knowledge and
Understanding. Prov. 2:6
g. Wisdom and Righteousness are used interchangeably in Proverbs, as you cannot have
one without the other. Only the Righteous man has access to God’s Presence through
the Holy Spirit, and that access is the only source of true Wisdom.
h. Man’s “wisdom” is nothing of the sort as God’s ways are not our ways so how could we
find wisdom anywhere but in Him?
i. “Let no one deceive himself. If any of you thinks he is wise in this age, he should become
a fool, so that he may become wise. 19For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in
God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness.” 20And again, “The
Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.” 1 Cor. 3:19
4. Loyalty
a. Characterized by or showing faithfulness to commitments, vows, allegiance, obligations,
etc.
b. “But if you fail to keep your word, then you will have sinned against the LORD, and you
may be sure that your sin will find you out.” Num. 32:23
c. “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” Prov. 16:3
d. When you make a vow to God, do not delay in fulfilling it. He has no pleasure in fools;
fulfill your vow. It is better not to vow than to make a vow and not fulfill it. Do not let
your mouth lead you into sin. And do not protest to the [temple] messenger, "My vow
was a mistake." Why should God be angry at what you say and destroy the work of your
hands? Much dreaming and many words are meaningless. Therefore stand in awe of
God.” Ecc. 5:4-7
e. You cannot be a Kingdom Warrior if you do not honor your commitment to the Code.
5. Courage
a. Possessing or characterized by courage; brave, having valor; ”The ability to do
something that frightens one.” Or being motivated by the heart to do something brave.
b. “Then you will prosper, if you take care to fulfill the statutes and judgments with which
the LORD charged Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and of good courage; do not fear
nor be dismayed” 1 Chron. 22:13
c. “Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say,
on the LORD!” Psa. 27:13
d. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For
the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
6. Love
a. God IS love—it is His essence, and it is the center and the heart of all of the Code—it is
the story we are a part of.
b. “For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son so that we would not perish, but
would have eternal life.” John 3:16

2
c. You are not a Kingdom Warrior without love, you are a poser, a pretender.
d. “If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would
only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I
understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith
that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. 3 If I gave
everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it;[a] but
if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. Love is patient and kind. Love is not
jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable,
and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but
rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always
hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.8 Prophecy and speaking in unknown
languages[b] and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! 9
Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only
part of the whole picture! 10 But when the time of perfection comes, these partial
things will become useless… 13 Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—
and the greatest of these is love.”1 Cor. 13
e. ”If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love
his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. 1 John 4:20
f. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born
of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7
7. Faithfulness
a. True to one's word, promises, vows, etc, steady in allegiance or affection; loyal;
constant.
b. A keeper of the Faith, a man who lives by his Faith in who God is and what we can do
through his Spirit to defeat the plan of the Enemy to keep people from God’s love.
c. “The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live with him; if we
endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; if we are
faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself.” 2 Tim. 2:11-13
d. “A faithful man will abound with blessings, but whoever hastens to be rich will not go
unpunished.” Prov. 28:20
e. “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God
must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” Heb. 11:6
f. “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Phil. 1:21
8. Integrity
a. The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.
Truthful. Trustworthy. Does what is right when no one is looking.
b. “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be
found out.” Prov. 10:9
c. “Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his
ways.” Prov. 28:6
d. “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is
pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is
anything worthy of praise, think about these things. “Phil. 4:8
