Assume that you are Wendy Peterson, Sales Manager -Plano, AccountBack,
(HBR case study, ‘Wendy Peterson). You had initially turned down Fred
Wu’s request for an assistant as you deemed it unreasonable and expressed
the same. Fred has, however, threatened to resign and join a competitor if
he is not provided with one. You had a night to ponder over your decision.
You are now ready with your decision on Fred Wu’s request for an
assistant. However, you need to ratify your decision by Henry Larsen, VP-
Sales, Accountbank, before you communicate the same to Wu.
