**Master of Engineering, Biomass/Waste to Energy Major, at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan
Profile
(2017-2019)
Experiences:
– Lecturer Assistant, Hasanuddin University (2009-2011)
• Biomass energy is one of the most widely explored research fields in energy and environmental
science.
• Biomass energy is a comparatively ample availability makes it a promising choice over other
renewable sources such as solar, wind or hydroelectric storage
• A deep understanding and knowledge of the process along with the alternative approaches to
bio-oil production are required for optimization and advancements in a cost-effective manner.
• Pyrolysis is a thermo chemical decomposition of organic material in to liquid, gases, and char
(solid residue) at elevated temperature (400 and 650 °C) in the absence of O2 (or any halogen).
Bio-oil production from biomass is devided by two main types of process ; flash pyrolysis and
hydrothermal liquefaction.
• Upgrading system developed for bio-oil upgrading because the quality of bio-oils is inferior
than petroleum–based fuels.
