How To: Perform an Item Inquiry

Purpose: Explains how to review the details related to an item, including the basic descriptive information,
purchase category details, and JDE attributes.

Systems Used: Oracle

Overview: Items are first created in JDE and are then synched to Oracle. The Inquiry function provides a
read-only view of the item’s details.

Step Action

1. Log into Oracle and select the Knoll PIM Inquiry responsibility from the left Navigation menu
2. Click Item Catalog then click Item Simple Search.

3. Click the Quick Select icon next to the appropriate

organization.

4. Enter the item number in the Search Item field.

You can use the % wildcard as part of the search string.

Click Go.
5. Click on the hyperlink in the Item
column.

6. Under the Item

tab, you can
select any of the
links on the left
side of the page
to view the
corresponding
information:

• Item Overview ● Inventory/WMS

• Classification and Categories ● Manufacturing
• Physical Attributes ● Service
• Sales and Order Management ● Pattern Attributes
• Planning ● JDE Attributes
• Purchasing

The Overview section provides the description, unit of measure, item type and other basic
information.
7. The Classifications and
Categories page provides
purchasing category details about
the item.

8. The Purchasing page displays

vendor planner and list price
details about the item.

9. The JDE Attributes page displays

the drawing number, revisions
number and country of origin of
the item.

Step Action

10. The JDE Org Attributes page

displays the HTS Codes for
international shipping and the ECO
Attributes that document item
revisions, including the part
number, date and reason for the
changes.

This information is entered and stored in JDE and viewable in Oracle.
