Music Teacher 

A career in teaching music is about teaching children music. Some of the tasks and

activities performed by a person in this career include teaching music theory and teaching kids

how to play instruments. In this career, a professional also teaches different instrumental

techniques. Music teachers teach kids the basics of many instruments. For example, kids are

usually taught guitar, piano, drums, and flute. Overall, being a music teacher means teaching

children many different things .

A music teacher must have several skills and abilities to do the job well. According to

Being able to manage a classroom is a skill that would be useful when working with big groups.

Having a music program would provide a way for students to learn music. Being able to

communicate and convey a message to a group of people is a good skill to have as well. Overall,

a person in this career must be comfortable with classroom management, music programs, and

communications. 

The education required to become a music teacher is a bachelor's degree or higher

verification of subject-matter competence, or a completion of approved educator preparation

program in music education. People interested should take music classes and should practice

that the median annual wage for music teachers was $100,050 is average salary for music

teachers  In the state of California, the mean wage is $4,810. So, professionals in this career have

varying salaries based on what level they teach.

  There are many careers related to being a music teacher. One related career is producing

music. This is similar to teaching music because they both have to do with music.  However, this

career is different in that producing music usually deals with audio mixing and making beats .

Another related career is private instrument teacher. It is similar in that they both have to do with

teaching instruments.  However, it is different because one career has to do with working one on

one with a student, but the other works with large groups. In the future, I would be interested in

teaching instruments privately because it is closest to being a music teacher.

I think I would be a successful music teacher because I enjoy working with kids and I

like music. The results from my strengths, interests, values surveys stated that I have a strength

in it because I can play more than one instrument and I study music. This will help me in this

career because every music teacher should know how to play more than one instrument and have

an understanding of music theory. Another aspect that is going to help me is being able to

capture the attention of a big group and keep people engaged with whatever im saying, because

as a teacher when you are teaching your class you should be able to keep all the students

attention.
