Scope and Delimitation

This research was conducted in the vicinity of Angelo Levardo Loyola Senior

High School, the Grade 11 and Grade12 students. The questionnaire will have a

demographic profile such as name, grade, section, general average last school year,

family composition, family’s standard of living and socio-economic status of the

students as perceived. The parenting style index for mother and father of the students

and the difficulties questionnaires for the students that undergo systematic sampling.

The researchers want to know if there is a significant relationship between the

emotional and behavioral problems towards parenting styles and the significant

relationship between the family’s structure and parenting styles.

This study has boundary. This research will only find the correlation of

parenting styles towards the self-assessment of student’s emotional and behavioral

problems and the significant relationship between the family’s structures and

parenting styles. It will not find the impact in social behavior of the students. This

research will not mention the parents’ income or financial status that may affect their

parenting styles to their children. Moreover, this study will no longer discuss the

demographic profile such as gender, grade, section, family standard living, family

socio economic status and general average of last school year of the respondents.

Most of the respondents did not answer the general average last school year the reason

why the researchers eliminated it in the result. Other variables from demographic

profile were excluded, for those are already out of coverage and beyond the aims of

the researchers. The study also focuses to determine the most frequent parenting style

and attention needed by the students regarding emotional and behavioral problems as

perceived by the respondents.
