NARRATIVE REPORT LABORATORY # 7

GPS or Global Positioning System is a space based satellite navigation system


the provides location and time information in all weather that maintained by the
United States government and it is freely accessible by anyone with a GPS receiver.

Unit of GPS device is Garmin Oregon 750. It is a touchscreen GPS/GLONASS


receiver, worldwide base map, and 8 mega pixel rear camera with flash and
Geocaching Live. This device has 3 inches screen and protected by gorilla glass which
is more durable than normal screen glass. It has a rechargeable battery and a Garmin
Double A battery with wire and adopter to charge it and other accessories. To open
the battery, you have to turn its lock counter clockwise and clockwise if you want to
close it and lock.

Turning on this device, just press the button on the right side of the device.
This device is mostly use by treasure hunters to track their location and review the
location that they want to operate to.

The following are some of the function that you can see in this device:

• Hiking- In order to track your location and your route.


• Tour Cycle- It can be use while in travel or driving any vehicle or motorcycle
to track your destination.
• Mountain Bike- To track the shortcut ways to your destination.
• Hunt- You can use this feature when you are in a jungle doing some hunting
activities in order to avoid getting loss.
• Fish- You can use this in fishing to know the current weather and the moon.
• Climbing- You can use this when you are in a Mountain Climbing to track your
route and your destination.
• Geocache- To locate where you are in Map.

Locate satellites and currently there are 5 available satellites detected. It is


18Gps, 33Gps, 20Gps, 5Gps etc. satellites. If you choose Mark Way Point, it gives
you your current longitude and latitude. And if you go to Compass, if you move the
GPS, it will change also the point of direction of the compass. And in Camera, the
photo that you have taken will be stored at photo viewer.
