5. Unlock and remove the cover of the computer.

6. Remove the computer side or top cover.

7. Remove the power supply unit and disconnect supply cable.

8. Remove the power supply cable and disconnect the fan.

9. Remove dust from the power supply using electric air blower
or a vacuum cleaner.

10. Never apply any liquid directly to a component. Spray or pour


the liquid on a lint-free cloth, and wipe the PC with cloth.

11. Reconnect the fan and return the cover.

12. Remove the dust from inside the computer using electric air
blower or a vacuum cleaner.

13. Return the power supply unit in its original position.

14. Reconnect the power supply cables to the computer.

15. Clean and clear its vents for any obstruction, internal and
external surfaces of the computer cover using a clean cloth
and a liquid cleaning agent (e.g. 409 glass cleaner).

16. Return the computer cover.


Note: This Preventive Maintenance Instruction applies to the Equipment as mentioned per related PM task sheet and/or work order. Works when
done Tick, data, remarks and the like are to be entered on the task sheet and/or work order. If required and as a result of this PMI, a follow-up work
order shall be raised to cover corrective Maintenance works.

B. Display Monitor Internal Cleaning

1. Remove the back cover of the display monitor.

2. Remove the dust from the interior of the display monitor


using an electric air blower.

3. Wipe the monitor case and clear its vents of obstructions


without pushing dust into the unit.

4. Return the back cover.

5. Clean external surfaces of the display monitor using a clean


cloth and a liquid cleaning agent (e.g. 409 glass cleaner).

6. Check that computer and display monitor are switched off.

7. Reconnect the cables removed in Step 3 above, with the


exception of the keyboard cable.

C. Keyboard Cleaning

1. Remove the top cover.

2. Taking care not to damage the plastic locks, unlock all the
lock located on the bottom of the keyboard using a small flat
screw driver.

3. Taking care not to damage the numeric keypad, remove it


using a small flat screwdriver.

4. Unlock the plastic cover of the keyboard control pad.

5. Remove the keyboard control pad rubber cover.

6. Remove dust from the keyboard control pad using a soft


paintbrush.

7. Clean the keyboard surface using a clean cloth and a liquid


cleaning agent (e.g. 409 glass cleaner).

8. Return the keyboard control pad and rubber cover.

9. Return and lock the plastic cover of the keyboard control


pad.

10. Return the top plastic cover of the keyboard.

11. Reconnect the keyboard to the computer.

12. Reboot the computer.
