1. Based on the account of Gen.

Santiago Alvarez, where does he think the first cry for freedom was held?

Based on Gen. Santiago Alvarez the first cry was held at the barn of Kabesang Melchora at a place called Sampalukan,
barrio of Bahay Toro. He stated that around 1,000 katipuneros gathered inside the big barn underthe leader ship of the
Supremo Andress Bonifacio. Monday August 24, 1898, 12 o clock noon when he heard a loud amidst of cries, shouting
“Long live the sons of the country (Mabuhay ang mga Anak ng Bayan).” His account or hi version cannot be accepted due
to the fact he is not an eyewitness of the historic event, Gen Santiago Alvarez was in Cavite at that time.

2. Is Gregoria de Jesus' testimony reliable? Justify your answer.

Gregoria de Jesus testimony is not reliable.” The testimony of Gregoria De Jesus has weak points due to the fact she was
hiding with her parents from the Spanish Authority; she is not with Andress Bonifacio when the first cry was held. She
did not know the exact location she just said somewhere near Caloocan.

Gregoria De jesus or also known as Lakambini ng katipunan, stated that First “Cry,” it occurred near Caloocan on August
25, 1896. She also stated “Andres Bonifacio and other katipuneros left the town after some days. It was then that the
uprising began, with the first cry for freedom on August 25, 1896

co
Captain Olegario Diaz, Spanish commander of the Guardia Civil Veterana of Manila or Guardia civil report on the cry of

the Balintawak account is should be not considered; due to the fact Captain Olegario Diaz is the one who investigated the

rs e
Caloocan, on the 24th they were attacked by the Guardia Civil in the outskirts of the said town and they retreated to
ou urc
their hiding places. The Supreme Council called for a big meeting to be held the following day August 25 1986 in the
