NOTICE
Sirs/Mesdames:

Please take notice that the Court, Special Second Division, issued a
Resolution dated 24 November 2021 which reads as follows:
"G.R. No. 253202 (Robert Pig-ed v. People of the Philippines). -
Under Resolution dated January 18, 2021, 1 the Court affirmed petitioner
Robert Pig-ed's verdict of conviction for acts of lasciviousness under Article
336 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Section 5(b) of Republic Act
No. 7610, the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation
and Discrimination Act.
By Manifestation dated March 16, 2021,2 however, petitioner's
counsel informed the Court that petitioner had died on March 3, 2021, the
same date counsel received the Comi' s resolution of affirmance. The
original copy of petitioner's death certificate issued by the Municipal Health
Officer of Itogon, Benguet was attached to said manifestation.
In view of the death of petitioner Robert Pig-ed on March 3, 2021, the
Court resolves to NOTE the Manifestation dated March 16, 2021 filed by
petitioner's counsel; RECALL and SET ASIDE the Court's Reso lution
dated January 18, 2021; DISMISS the criminal case filed against petitioner;
and consider this appeal CLOSED and TERMINATED.

Let entry of judgment be issued immediately.

SO ORDERED."
