1. Sociology
Sociology, a social science that studies human societies, their interactions, and the processes
that preserve and change them. It does this by examining the dynamics of constituent parts of
societies such as institutions, communities, populations, and gender, racial, or age groups.
The value of sociology lies in the fact that it keeps us up-to-date on modern situations, it
contributes to making good citizens, it contributes to the solution of community problems, it
adds to the knowledge of society, it helps the individual find his relation to society, it identifies
good Government with community, it helps one to understand causes of things and so on.
Sociology has practical value for the individual as it assists him to understand himself, his
resources and limitations, his potentialities and his role in society.

2. Political Science
Political science is a social science subject that involves the study of political institutions,
government systems, and political behavior. These scientists use qualitative and quantitative
research to understand political trends and decision-making. Political Science is excellent
preparation for effective citizenship. Studying political science grounds students in the
importance of political participation and prepares them to take part in the political life of their
communities and the nation. Political scientists study and explain government and legislative
processes so that people can be better informed about policies that impact their communities,
states, and the country. Political scientists seek to understand the underlying ways in which
power, authority, rules, constitutions, and laws affect our lives. Like other social sciences,
political science focuses on human behavior, both individually and collectively.

3. Economic
Economics is a social science concerned with the production, distribution, and consumption of
goods and services. It studies how individuals, businesses, governments, and nations make
choices about how to allocate resources. Economics plays a role in our everyday life. Preparing
you for an ever-changing world. The study of economics helps people understand the world
around them. Studying economics enables us to understand past, future and current models,
and apply them to societies, governments, businesses and individuals. In another hand it
enables people to understand people, businesses, markets and governments, and therefore
better respond to the threats and opportunities that emerge when things change. Community
Economic Development's purpose is to revitalize communities, develop and rehabilitate
affordable housing, promote sustainability, attract investments, build wealth, encourage
entrepreneurship, and create jobs.
