International Junior Science Olympiad 2022 – Hong Kong Screening

Competition Result
International Junior Science Olympiad 2022 – Hong Kong Screening was successfully held on 26
September 2021. High-achieving contestants will be arranged to participate in a series of follow-on
enhancement training programmes. Students excelling in such trainings may be selected to represent
Hong Kong and take part in the 19th International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) to be held in
December 2022.

IJSO 2022 – Hong Kong Screening Prize-giving cum Flag Presentation Ceremony

Awardees of First and Second Class Honours [1] are cordially invited to the Ceremony with details
as follows. Please note that the Teacher Coordinators should submit a completed Reply Slip (please
refer to the related “Result Announcement” email) on or before 3 November 2021 (Wednesday) to
HKAGE.

Date : 18 November 2021 (Thursday)

Time for Rehearsal : 6:15 p.m. (registration for awardees at 6:00 p.m.; all awardees should
attend the rehearsal punctually)
Time for Ceremony : 7:15 p.m. (registration for guests at 7:00 p.m.)
Venue : Lecture Theatre, 4/F, West Block, Kowloon Tong Education Services
Centre, 19 Suffolk Road, Kowloon Tong

Important Notes:
[1] To reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection, the venue has set a capacity limit. Seats are
reserved for awardees of First and Second Class Honours ONLY. We regret that NO awardee of
Third Class Honours can be entertained.
[2] All participants are required to wear face masks, including the time of photo taking on stage. In
addition, participants are required to use “LeaveHomeSafe” mobile application to scan the venue
QR code to enter the government building.
[3] Awardees who fail to attend the rehearsal punctually will NOT be eligible to receive the awards on
stage during the ceremony.
[4] All awardees should wear proper school uniform.
[5] ONE representative from each school is welcome to join the ceremony.
[6] Parents of the awardees and other guests can watch the ceremony live online. Details would be
provided to the awardees and teacher coordinators via email later.
[7] Videos and photos may be taken during the ceremony. These photos and videos may be reproduced
in electronic forms and / or printed publications for internal records, educational, research and
marketing purposes (e.g. uploading to the HKAGE’s website and social media).
[8] Teachers are advised to inform students concerned and their parents of the above terms and obtain
their agreement.

The 19th International Junior Science Olympiad Student Training Programme

Awardees of First and Second Class Honours are eligible to participate in The Student Training
Course for 19th International Junior Science Olympiad (Phase I) (E3IJO001C). If eligible awardees
declined their offer, awardees of Third Class Honours may be considered to join the course based on
their performance in IJSO 2022 – HK Screening. Third Class Honours awardees will be put on the
waiting list. Result will be announced by email on 28-29 October 2021.

programme/face-to-face (please click “Sciences”). Interested awardees should complete the online
application on or before 27 October 2021 (Wednesday) 12 noon via this website. Late application
will NOT be entertained. Please note that the training will be conducted in Cantonese ONLY
(supplemented by English, with English handouts). Schools should provide related support to the
students if needed.

“Nurturing the Gifted Scheme” at HKAGE

After obtaining a completion grade in the Phase I Training, students of appropriate age will be invited
to apply for HKAGE student membership through the “Nurturing the Gifted Scheme”. For enquiries,
