The casualties in the Caraga region.

(2 pts)

The typhoon hit the Philippines after two years of the COVID-19 outbreak, which had already made
many communities vulnerable. Many areas are affected by the typhoon's devastation, and we are one of
them. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (2021) reported a total casualties
of 71 deaths, 508 injured, and 5 still missing cases in Caraga Region. There were 4 injured confirmed
cases while 504 injured people are still for validation. 71 deaths and 5 still missing cases were also
reported but still for validation.

The incidents that happened in Butuan City. (2 pts)

Caraga had limited access due to flooding, landslide, and fallen trees. One of the areas of Caraga Region
that had these incidents was Butuan City. According to the NDRRMC (2021), a report of four Barangays
in Butuan City were recorded with the incidents of having landslide (rain-induced) and flooded areas.
These Barangays are Bitan-angan, Bugsukan, Pangabugan, and Sumile. Due to the floods generated by
Typhoon Odette, both Barangay Bitan-angan and Bugsukan were impassable.

Damaged houses in Butuan City. (2 pts)

The NDRRMC (2021) published details on the typhoon's impacts, including damage to homes. While
several places in the Caraga Region were impacted by Typhoon Odette, Butuan City was also
experiencing difficulties. Aside from electricity loss, houses in some areas of Butuan were also destroyed
and several people lost their shelters. Some had resorted to staying with their relatives and/or friends.
According to the NDRRMC (2021), there were 27 damaged houses in Butuan City in total, 27 partially
damaged houses, and 54 grand total damaged houses.

Disease Outbreaks in Dinagat Islands (2 pts)

Affected communities are experiencing disease outbreaks and acute malnutrition, due to lack of access
to clean water and healthy food. One of the regions hit by the illness epidemic was the Dinagat Islands.
Following Odette, the Dinagat Islands' three local areas (Cagdianaio, San Jose, and Tubajon) reported
severe gastroenteritis cases due to a shortage of safe drinking water. Surigao City's primary supply of
water was destroyed and was leaked, resulting in a lack of drinkable water. The lack of access to
adequate drinking water and sanitation facilities raises the likelihood of communicable disease
outbreaks and other health problems.

MIMAROPA, Region 5, Region 6, Region7, Region 8, Region 9, Region 10, Region 11, Region 12, Caraga,
