Learning activity 4

Evidence: My presentation outline

A. Find a topic of personal interest. Imagine you are going to present that topic
orally to your teacher and classmates at school. For this part of the evidence
you need to carry out exhaustive research in order to be able to present all the
necessary information related to your selected topic. Report the most important
aspects of your research through a brainstorm of the ideas and concepts that
you think will be relevant to the presentation.

Brainstorm

Example of topic: Aviation.

 Aviation refers to the use of commercial and non-commercial aircrafts

for transportation of people or goods.

 The A380, manufactured by the Airbus Industry, is the biggest plane

ever made.

Topic: Internet of things IOT

The Internet of Things (IoT) describes the network of physical objects

("things") that incorporate sensors, software, and other technologies for the
purpose of connecting and exchanging data with other devices and
systems over the Internet.

Connectivity to a large number of network protocols, with automatic and

analytical learning using artificial intelligence.
B. Now, structure your presentation using the Signpost language learnt during this
learning activity. Present your outline through presentation cards. Use as many
cards as you need.

Remember: Each presentation card should include a

heading, a phrase at the bottom, a number and it should be
organized by numbering and bulleting.

(Model)

Aviation
[heading]

Structure: I’m going to divide this talk into five parts.

1. Early beginnings.
2. Civil aviation.
3. Commercial aviation.
4. Modern aircrafts manufacturers:
a. Airbus.
b. Boeing.
c. Embraer.
5. The most famous aircrafts in history:
a. Concorde.
b. Boeing 747.
c. Airbus A380.

Let’s turn now to the first part: the early beginnings

of aviation…

IOT

Structure: Next, we will have several sections on the exposed subject.

1. What is IoT?

2. Why is the Internet of Things (IoT) so important?

3. What technologies have made the IoT possible?

4. What is industrial IoT?

5. Unlock business value with IoT

Internet of things IOT

What is IoT?

IOT or internet of things are a grouping and interconnection of devices

and objects through a network, where they are clearly visible and
interact with them, any device is used, from sensors to industrial
mechanical devices.
Internet of things IOT

Why is the Internet of Things (IoT) so important?

Currently IOT has become one of the most important and requested
technologies, since it can connect everyday objects, appliances, cars,
thermostats, etc. Through the internet, fluid communication between
people, processes and things is possible.

Why would this be so important?: Well, as already mentioned, the IOT

deals with the connection of any electronic or industrial thing, that is, we
can visualize data from a specific piece of equipment, we store it in the
cloud and we can manipulate a graph and assign it to know consumption or
use of your car, machine, or computers.

Internet of things IOT

What technologies have made the IoT possible?

The idea of the IOT already existed a long time ago, in itself it is a
collection of recent advances of a series of technologies

-Access to low-cost, low-power sensor technology

-connectivity

-cloud computing platforms

-Automatic and analytical learning

- Conversional artificial intelligence

All together, it could be said that they form what is IOT technology since
they are all used in its development and manipulation, each of these
technologies contributed to create what is today IOT.
Internet of things IOT

What is industrial IoT?

Industrial IOT refers to the application of Iot technology in industrial

environments, especially with respect to the instrumentation and control
of sensors as well as devices that use cloud technologies. Some of its
common uses in the industry would be:

smart manufacturing

Connected assets and preventive and predictive maintenance

Smart power grids

Smart cities

connected logistics

Smart digital supply chains

Internet of things IOT

As IoT becomes more pervasive in the market, companies are capitalizing on

the tremendous business value it can offer as it has broad benefits including:

 Gain insights based on IoT data to help better manage the business

 Increase the productivity and efficiency of business operations

 Create new business models and revenue streams

 Easily and seamlessly connect the physical business world with the
digital world to drive rapid value
C. To complete the evidence, you must now write a complete list of references
using the guidelines given by the American Psychological Association (APA). Do
not forget to organize your references alphabetically.
