Introduction and Getting Data

Climate Data

Climate observations are collected by a

diverse range of networks
- ground-based stations
- data from satellites
- from aircrafts
- from ships

There are millions of weather observations

made every day.

These observations are synthesized in

weather and climate models to produce
continuous maps of the desired weather
variables.
