You’ve been asked to design an office for a new tech startup

During the brief taking session with the client Mr. Smith, the following conversation ensued.

Mr. Smith: Hi, Thank you for stopping by

I’m the technology lead for WMP Limited, we are about to create a new tech startup subsidiary.
The subsidiary STS, is a fintech company focused on transportation payments.
Our aim is to digitise payments for all transportation services (Road, Train, Ferries)

Since STS is a subsidiary of WMP, WMP would be giving us part of their space on the 2nd Floor.

The total area of the space given to us is 90sqm.

We’ll like to have the following functions or spaces

1) Welcome Lounge / Reception

2) 8 Man meeting room
3) A Co-work space to sit at least 14 people
4) A private office
5) A Lounge/Break-out space
6) A Kitchenette

It is important that the entire space is experiential in nature. The space should pass a message about who
we are as a company and what we do.

The space should be modern, out of the box yet minimalist and should create a statement,
Our Group Head loves plants, so you can include potted plants or plants in the space.

We’ll like privacy lounge chair or pods in the co-work space, so please consider that in your design.

Although our company is a tech startup, our clientele would be majorly government officials (Local &
International) and head of industries (Business Owners & Banks).

Our staff however would be millennials.

Overall we’ll like the space to be memorable, experiential and creative. The space should help foster
collaboration and innovation.
