Himalaya Herbal Healthcare has a very wide range of products, which include
"pharmaceuticals, personal care, baby care, well-being, nutrition and animal health
products.
As a product manager of The Himalaya Drug Company I will introduce Protein Bars.
This will be an addition within the product line (Nutrition). Needs of the customer
change over time so innovation is important and to compete with the competitors
continuous improvement is required.A new product will be developed and the
compositions will include protein and carbs, micronutrients, such as calcium, B
vitamins, potassium, and iron and will come in different flavors.This product will
create a new revenue source for the company . We will extend the nutrition product
line. This is a medium risk strategy but consistency will be maintained. This product
will be suitable under the nutrition segment because the bar will be of similar nature.

4) Quista Pro ( Coffee Mocha ) - Whey Protein Packed Powder (Rs.2500)

Quista Pro which is a protein supplement powder has a high price and comes
in 1Kg and 2 Kg packages. Protein Bars will also be marketed as a protein
supplement but it will have relatively low prices and the packaging will be
travel friendly and people will get variety. If nutrition bars are launched they
will not overshadow any product of its own segment. By bringing Protein Bars
to this line we will be consistent with our products.

Why Protein Bars?

1) Nowadays people are so busy. ( For example : If every alternate day a person
is getting late for the office/college and he is skipping breakfast to reach the
destination on time) but if he has a Protein bar , he can eat on the way and it
will also save a lot of time and his needs will be fulfilled. It can be an instant
solution to this problem.
2) Can be used as a healthy substitute to meals or as a healthy snack between
meals.
3) Protein bars are travel friendly. People can have it anywhere and anytime. It
doesn't require much space to keep .No need to carry a heavy lunch box just carry a
protein bar. We are solving this problem.
4) Can be taken as a pre workout or after workout supplement.

Fitness industry is booming because people are becoming more aware about health
and fitness. It's a good time to launch a protein bar. The nutrition bar market is
increasing at a very fast pace.
People today have become health conscious and healthy snacking habits are
increasing day by day. Sometimes people want Protein Bars because they want to
compensate for various nutrient deficiencies which occur due to the lack of adequate
intake of nutritious food.

Already established distribution channels of the company will help this product to
reach the customers on a large scale.The products of the company are distributed
through a mix of channels such as authorized distributors, retailers, E-commerce
websites, Medial stores and Pops & mom stores.The products of the company are
also prescribed by the doctors.So, there is a possibility that doctors can also
prescribe it to those who don't have healthy eating habits or they can recommend it
as a supplement.(For example -Chawanprash , Doctors prescribe/recommend it all
the time)

Himalaya is an established brand and Brand Loyalty of the products are already
there , the brand image of Himalaya speaks about its health benefits. This image will
convince people that this product will work for them. Customers nowadays are
demanding natural solutions to their unhealthy eating problems and if a brand like
this comes up a protein rich bar people will be willing to try it.
