Bunny Hop

Crafts & Games

©SpeechDreams
To play “Bunny Hop” you can either use wind-up bunnies or use
my bunny game pieces. If you choose to use wind-up bunnies
you can use different color permanent markers to color the
winding mechanism. This will distinguish the players. Roll the dice
to determine how many times you can twist your wind-up bunny
or how many carrots you can jump with your bunny playing piece.
If you use the bunny playing pieces you will not need the Bunny
Hop game key. It is to be used with the wind-up bunnies. Give
each student a turn to hop down the board with their bunny.
Once a student has had their turn, their bunny will wait on the
side until it’s their turn again.

Easter

©SpeechDreams
To make your bunny craft you will have the students
color their bunny and banner. I used glitter letters to
spell Easter, but you could have them cut out the Easter
banner and use it instead. Then have them glue these
onto construction paper. You may add any of the
following: large wiggle eyes, a pom pom nose and/or two
suckers to the ears. See my pictures on the next few
slides.

Bunny Supplies Needed:
• I used glitter letters-found at Wal-Mart
• Pom Poms
• Easter suckers-found at Roses
• Washi Tape-used to tape the suckers to the back of
the construction paper
• wiggle eyes
• Exacto knife-to cut at the bottom of the bunny ear
to insert the sucker

Candy Wafer Bunnies:
These are really easy. I just used a Necco candy
wafer for the nose. I found the candy at the Dollar
Tree…my students didn‘t like it, so I found a creative
way to use it!

Have your students color the carrot, cut it out, and
then glue it to a piece of construction paper. Then you
can add the craft items.
I used green confetti stars and orange mesh to make
the carrot. I found the confetti in the party isle in
Wal-Mart and the orange mesh was in the craft/floral
section in Wal-Mart. See below for more ideas.

I like introducing my students to food items that they
haven’t tried before! So, I used dried mango, circus
peanuts and Reese’s Pieces. Just be aware of any
allergies your students may have. You could play a
game and give them one piece of candy/fruit for each
correct response, have a snack, then decorate your
carrot with tissue paper or construction paper pieces, if
you don’t have the mesh and confetti! Or have an
orange as a snack, then use the peels to decorate the
orange part of the carrot.

Or…combine both crafts into one!
Feed your bunny game rules:
Make enough copies of the game cards and
the bunny pages for your students.
Make a copy of the bunny for each
student and then make a few copies of
the carrot page and a couple copies of
the carrot/animal page.
Give each student a bunny page.
The object of the game is to place the
most carrots onto your bunny’s tummy.
Produce your target, roll the dice, and
then you will be given the amount of
cards that you rolled.
If you receive all carrots, great!
If you receive a bird or a lamb…you
must return one of your carrots back to
the card pile. The bird and lamb like to
snack on carrots!
