1. Definition
A song it self is a composition for voice or voices, performed by singing or
alongside musical instruments. A choral or vocal song may be accompanied by
musical instruments, or it may be unaccompanied, as in the case of a cappella
songs. The lyrics (words) of songs are typically of a poetic, rhyming nature, though
they may be religious verses or free prose.
A song may be for a solo singer, a duet, trio, or larger ensemble involving more
voices. Songs with more than one voice to a part are considered choral works. Songs
can be broadly divided into many different forms, depending on the criteria used.

The languages features of a song are as follows.
a. Imagery, used to describe feelings and emotions.
b. Rhythm, used to create mood.
c. Figures of speech.
3. The Structure of the Song
Here are the structure of song, as follows.
a. Title
It is commonly placed above the song lyric. It is the name of the song lyrics.
b. Intro
It is a brief introduction to the song. It is filled with the leading music before the vocals come
in.
c. Verse
It is the content of the song. Here, we can find the meaning, the feel, the concept, and even
the theme of the song itself.
d. Chorus or Refrain
It is part of a song that is commonly repeated at least once, both lyrically and musically. It
usually plays a role as the catchy part in a song.
e. Bridge
It is the part of a song that has relatively different melody from the rest of the song. It creates
the contrast and adds a richer dimension to a song.
f. Coda, the closing of the song lyric.
Basically, coda is the closing of the song.
