 ControlMaestro Suite Overview

1. Purpose of this document :

The purpose of this document is to help customers sizing their hardware and to specify what
kind of Hardware and software needs to be put in place. Those specifications are given to
clients and must be put in place if the client wants its application to be supported by Elutions.
Specifications can be adapted on case by case depending on:

• Number of Tags and images

• Data recording frequency
• Number of client machine connected
• Size of the historical data today if it is a migration

In order to define the right sizing for the machines, the targeted architecture has to be taken
into account as well as it has a big impact on entire system performances.
Indeed a Standalone application hosting everything will need to be sized correctly in order to
work well.

2. Possible architectures :
a. Standalone application Architecture
i. What a Standalone application is ?
A standalone application is an application which is installed on one
server/workstation. All the components, CM licence, CM Software, developed
application, SQL data base, Data acquisition service and storage, Visualisation
service for client machines, scripting….processes.
Below is a representation of what a standalone application architecture looks
like.

Description:
• 1 Workstation with 3 screens
• 2 clients stations (Software, client app and Licence are installed on the
machine)
• 1 web client station

ii. Associated Hardware & Software specifications

• Processor: min Intel I7 > 3 GHz or equivalent for servers (Xeon).
• Memory RAM : 48 GB
• Hard disk: min. 500 GB (recommended: 1TO HD if > 2000 tags)
• Graphic card: 1 GB
• TCP/IP configuration: IP address can be fixed or provided by a DHCP server
• Browser: Microsoft Edge or Chrome are required for Aditum
• MS IIS (Internet Information Server) version 10
• OS : W10, WS 2019, 2016
• SQL server : SQL Express version is provided with CM installation, depending
on the number of tags and recording frequency, SQL server Standard Edition
should be requested.

b. Master and Back up Architecture

i. What a Master & Back up Architecture is ?

Description:
• 2 servers executing Data acquisition process
• 1 server executing Historical Data Storage writing and reading into SQL server
• 1 server used to display information for client stations
• 2 Client stations (CM software, developped app and Software protection are
installed)
• 1 web client station connected locally to the LAN
• 1 HMI Interface
• 1 Smartphone device
• 1 Tablet

• Master & Backup Server Machines:

Processor: min Intel I7 > 3 GHz or equivalent for servers (Xeon).

Memory RAM : 32 GB per machine
Hard disk: 256 Go
Graphic card: 1 GB
TCP/IP configuration: IP address can be fixed or provided by a DHCP server
MS IIS (Internet Information Server) version 10
OS : W10, WS 2019, 2016

• Control Maestro client Machine or HMI for operators :

Processor: min Intel I5 or I7 > 3 GHz

Memory RAM : 16 GB
Hard disk: 128 Go
Graphic card: 1 GB
TCP/IP configuration: IP address can be fixed or provided by a DHCP server
OS : W10

• Web client Machine or Web based HMI for operators :

Processor: min Intel I5 or >

Memory RAM : 8 GB
Hard disk: 128 Go
Graphic card: 1 GB
OS : W10 + Chrome or Edge
This machine should be used for CM application vizualisation and control
only. If any other software or programming tools or local scripting is
executed on the machine, then the size of the machine should be
upgraded.
