Mini Bazaar in IBTE, MTSSR Campus

On the 17th and 18th of November, we were given a group assignment where a group of
five to six were to do a business. My group, L&G Enterprise which stands for Ladies &
Gentleman Enterprise, consists of six members. We had Noryani as the leader, Hazirah
as the person who controls our finance, Bahauddien as our cook for our live cooking,
Alisham and Nadhirah who were in charge of our food and drinks respectively and I was
responsible for taking records of the sales during the two days. We each invested $30
for this assignment.
Our group decided to sell spaghetti, butter chicken, cupcakes, cornbeef fried rice, curry
puffs, different flavor of pop ice and varieties of canned drinks. The products we sold
were a good choice. Especially our curry puffs and spaghetti that were sold out very
quickly. We had the idea to sell these products as we thought they were all affordable
and pretty much everyone likes them. The ideas we had come from our very own
experience of helping our family members with either their cooking, or their business in
selling food. Some of our ideas were from what we have acknowledged, such as from
observing restaurants, shops and small exhibitions.
It was an advantage for the six of us since we all had different skills adapted and were
required for the two days business. Some of us has the skills required for this business,
such as cooking, leadership and accounting. We had basic idea of how business works.
Our customers were mainly the students of MTSSR from different departments as well
as our instructors. Since we promoted our company, there were also customers from
outside the school. We promoted our product through Whatsapp as it is the most
popular application now and since almost everyone uses it and also other social media.
Our business were to start from 8am to 4pm. On the first day, we faced a little bit of
difficulty. The camps, tables and chairs only arrived after 8am, which delayed our time
to arrange our things and have everything settled. Our customers came earlier than
expected which made us panic and made our things not properly organized, despite our
experience of helping our family members doing business. Only after 10am were we
able to arrange and organize our things. Another problem we had to encounter, was the
fact that none of our Cupcakes were sold. At the end of the day, we earned $140 and
used $53 of it to buy more products needed for the second day.
The second day went well unexpectedly. We did not have to wait for anything except
time. We managed to arrange our things before 8am. So when customers started
coming, we gave our best service possible compared to the first day. We did not face
much problem except for the hot weather. We earned $114 for the second day.
Our group earned back $245 from both days which gave us a profit of 41%. We then
divided the money amongst ourselves.
