CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION FOR THE COMPANY

4.1 Conclusion
The main purpose of Ethiopian Electric Utility is to distribute electrical power, which is
generated by Ethiopian Electric Power, to the end users. EEU has many districts in the country,
one of these districts is found in Bahir Dar town in Amhara region. Bahir Dar SCADA center is
under EEU’s automation section and it is organized to support power distribution system in
Bahir Dar town and around the town. power distribution system is a little bit complex if the
occurring faults with their location is unknown, and Bahir Dar SCADA center play a vital role to
simplify this problem.
In my internship program, I have been working in Bahir Dar SCADA center. Tanks to this
program, I have developed many skills and experiences related to practical aspects my field. This
experience has influenced me to connect and relate the theoretical knowledge I acquired in the
class to its practical applications.
Actually, I am benefited a lot from this program, because it provides me an opportunity through
which I can strengthen my technical skills, get acquainted with the basic practical aspect of my
fields, develop my interpersonal communication skills, and it assist me in developing awareness
of my strengths, values, and interests which will enable me to better align my personal and
professional direction.

4.2 Recommendation for EEU

It is undeniable fact that EEU has been accomplishing its purpose effectively, although it faces
with many difficult situations in the way. However, there are many setbacks that I want to
recommend the company to clear them as much as possible to achieve an extraordinary success.
These are

 Although it needs to allocate extremely high capital to import or manufacture them, it

is not a strange thing to see plenty of electrical equipment (for example failed
transforms and transmission cables) thrown like a garbage everywhere. Hence, EEU
should boost its experience on using those equipments by carrying out necessary
maintenance.
 EEU has been accomplished a considerable work to address electric power to
urban/remote areas. But, most of the time distribution lines networked through these
areas stay not supplied with power for many years. Sadly, this problem leads the
company to an inevitable wastage of distribution and its components. So, the
company should give quick response for this problem.
  The Company should upgrade employees’ capacity, should build attractive work
environments, develop managements and employee commitments, establishing
performance-based reward and payment systems and working on improving
employees’ ethical problems.

4.3 Recommendation for Bahirdar institute of Technology

To be honest, it is an appreciable practice that Bahirdar institute of Technology gives an
internship practice opportunity for students. Even so, I would like to recommend BiT this
point

 BiT needs to develop its communication (flow up closely and encourage) the hosting
companies of interns to achieve an ultimate goal of the internship program.
It is undeniable fact that EEU has been accomplishing its purpose effectively, although it faces
with many difficult situations in the way. However, there are many setbacks that I want to
