Saudi Arabia, officially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), is a country in Western Asia

located on the Arabian Peninsula. It is the third-biggest country altogether in Asia, the
second-largest in the Arab world, and the largest in Western Asia, with a land area of around
2,150,000 km2 (830,000 sq mi). KSA has a geographical advantage since the major border of
KSA is shared by its allies, on the west by the it is surrounded by Red Sea, on the north by
Jordan, Iraq, and Kuwait, on the east by the Persian Gulf, Qatar, and the United Arab
Emirates, on the southeast by Oman, and on the south by Yemen. Bahrain is an island nation
off the coast of the United Arab Emirates.
In Saudi Arabia, the world's second-largest religion, Islam, was born. Mecca and Medina,
Islam's holy cities, are located in the country.
Political Background
Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy; however, the Basic Law of Saudi Arabia, which was
enacted by royal decree in 1992, states that the king must follow Sharia (Islamic law) and the
Quran, and that the Quran and the Sunnah (Muhammad's traditions) form the country's
constitution. . There are no political parties or state elections allowed. It is regarded as a
totalitarian regime by critics.

Economy
Saudi Arabia has the largest economy in the Middle East and the world's 18th largest economy
as of October 2018. Saudi Arabia has the world's second-biggest proven oil reserves and is the
world's largest petroleum exporter. It is also home to the fifth-largest proven natural gas
reserves in the world. Saudi Arabia is regarded as a "superpower" in the energy sector. The oil
industry accounts for around 63 percent of budget revenues and 67 percent of export earnings
in Saudi Arabia's command economy.
