ADMISSION TO MPhil PROGRAMME IN ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC


ENGINEERING
Congratulations!

With reference to your application for admission to pursue an MPhil programme at the Electrical
and Electronic Engineering Department of this University, we are pleased to offer you admission
into MPhil in Electrical and Electronic Engineering programme with effect from 1st June, 2021.
The programme, which is FULL TIME, is for a period of two (2) academic years. The offer is
based on available information that you have satisfied the entry requirements for the above
programme of study. In connection with this offer, you are to note the following points carefully:

1. The admission is offered for the 2021/2022 academic year.


2. You are to pay a non- refundable AFUF of GH¢3,500.00 to the Bank details overleaf and
submit the receipt with your acceptance letter.
3. Your admission is subject to your being certified as medically fit by the University
Medical Officer.
4. You are to register at the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department at the
beginning of each semester.
5. All students are considered to be on probation for the full duration of their programme,
and may be withdrawn from the University at any time for unsatisfactory work or
misconduct.
6. You are required to find your own accommodation. Please contact the Graduate Students’
Association of Ghana (GRASAG) for assistance on the issue.
7. You are to show the Original Certificate for your degree at re-opening to the Dean,
School of Postgraduate studies. Failure to show your Original Certificate will render your
admission null and void.
8. Orientation would be done within the first two weeks in June; the date would be
communicated to you.
9. Please note that Matriculation is the official ceremony that admits freshers formally into
the University, and it is COMPULSORY. The date would be communicated
appropriately.
10. You are required to pay the approved AFUF fees to the University every year, before
registration.
11. You are also required to pay laboratory maintenance fee of GH¢900.00 each academic
year.
12. You shall take compulsory and elective modules to meet the required credit hours for
graduation. Kindly contact your Head of Department for the details of modules to be
taken. You may also take other modules based on the advice of your supervisors to
facilitate the conduct of your research. In all cases, you will be required to pay a fee of
GH¢900.00 per module and sign up one week before the commencement of the module.

13. Please note that Introduction to Electrical and Electronic Engineering is compulsory
for all those who do not have diploma or degree in Electrical and Electronic
Engineering.
14. You are required to complete your thesis within two years (if full time) and three years (if
part-time) of the programme, and pay GH¢2,800.00 as thesis fee before submission of
your thesis for examination.
15. You are required to present at least one Postgraduate Seminar during the course of your
study.
16. You are required to publish one technical paper related to your thesis before submission
of your thesis for examination.
17. You are required to have completed all required modules and seminar before you submit
your thesis for examination.
