“Mobile Messaging and Social Media 2015”: From the Pew Research Center.

By Maeve
Duggan.
Messaging, or real-time communications with contacts, is eating the world and
breaking everything. Broadly speaking, this includes everything from WeChat,
WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger to Snapchat and Wickr, and in recent years,
messaging has grown more quickly than social networks. Pew puts out a slew of
important survey-based reports, but this one — their first to really drill down on
messaging — may prove to herald the next era in digital communications. The
numbers and trends are well worth noting: “Among smartphone owners ages 18
to 29, 49 percent use messaging apps. However, these apps are relatively popular
with older smartphone owners as well: 37 percent of smartphone owners age 30
to 49 and 24 percent of those ages 50 and older use mobile messaging apps.”

SUMMARY AND A REACTION ABOUT THE ARTICLE

Messaging, or real-time communication with contacts, is consuming the world and destroying
it. This encompasses everything from WeChat, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger to Snapchat
and Wickr, and messaging has grown faster than social networks in recent years. Pew produces a
number of important survey-based reports, but this one — their first to focus specifically on
messaging — could usher in a new era in digital communications. "Among smartphone owners
aged 18 to 29, 49 percent use messaging apps," according to the statistics. These apps are also
popular among older smartphone owners: 37% of smartphone owners aged 30 to 49 use them.
My sole reaction on social media is that it might be a useful tool for us. It brings individuals
together, even if they are physically separated. Like our loved ones that are in the abroads we
can communicate by using social media. However, if you abuse it, it might lead to issues such as
cyberbullying and the like.

 What media is important or instrumental in the course of event?

A well thought-out social media event marketing strategy is integral to planning and
executing successful events. Event organizers constantly hear about the value of social
media at events, but rarely is the reasoning behind it discussed. At events, accessing
social media isn't always an option. It adds value to event attendees. According to a
Sparks survey, event goers believe that social media enhances their event experience.
It's a chance to learn something new.

 Why do you think the identified media was instrumental in the course of event?
The identified media was instrumental in the course event because in technology social
media was the fame in the users because it helps them to make their works faster. Like
if you need to look for someone instead of looking it physically and need time for
walking , you will use the social media like messaging apps to chat or text them to be
easy for you.

 Was the outcome a positive or a negative change? Explain your answer.

Because social media is such a new technology, little research has been done to
determine the long-term effects, good or ill, of its use. Multiple studies, however, have
linked heavy social media use to an increased risk of melancholy, anxiety, loneliness,
self-harm, and even suicide ideation.
