JOURNAL NO. 5
5TH
Day as Pre-Service Teacher

NON SCHOLAE SED VITAE DISCIMUS

(We Learn not only for school but for life)

March 2,2022

Today marks my 5th day as a pre-service teacher and I am starting to get comfortable

each day because of the people inside the administration office who are very kind and welcoming.

The day is seems so bright because of the smiles and good approach of the teachers who passes

by the office, and I am very glad the I am surrounded by the good nature as I start my errands for

the day.

The corner side of my mini workplace I started making my weekly home learning plan for

the week and as well my daily journals. Learning doesn’t stop because it is a continuous process

as you explore the vast inclusions of it. I learned more today about the whereabouts of School

Forms 2 and as well being computer literate when it comes to manipulating Excel Microsoft and

other platforms that helps me to make such paperwork’s.

My cooperating teacher never fails to amaze me everyday because of his expertise and

knowledge about the field of education and as well the subject he has handling which is the area

of Mathematics. He is very flexible, and time bounded and as well very competent and

hardworking and passionate towards his work. I am motivated to learn everyday because I am

very lucky that I am assigned to him as a student teacher.

Indeed, going to school is not only a mere learning but it is more on the daily life

application of what you have learned every single day. As I embody the characteristics of being a

good student and as well as being a future teacher to be, I am very eager to finish my degree and

explore more towards the field of teaching. Though every day is not always a good day, you will

encounter bumps in life and unpredictable happenings that will test your strength and capabilities,

but the day will find its way to make you more even stronger and wiser.

If I will sum up my day today, I can say that I am “challenged” I learned new ways of

coping up with the things that I am not comfortable with and I learned things that made me push

through the limits. I am so grateful that despite of the covid-19 pandemic, I have experienced the

onsite practicum teaching and actual observation towards the school. In lieu with the things I have

learned for today, I also gained new acquaintances in the persona of the teachers, and I was able

to get to know more about myself. Lastly, with this opportunity I have today I hope the learnings

that I will acquire will become my preparation as I lead my own road through the long process of

being a teacher.
