Russel’s “The Value of Philosophy”

Russell implicitly employs the first approach in his chapter on the worth of philosophy, which
comes at the end of a book in which he had examined some key philosophical questions. However, certain
generalizations regarding his perspective on the essence of philosophy are feasible. It is founded on logic
and argument. It is frequently concerned with the nature of language and concept analysis. It is generally
a priori and does not rely on empirical evidence. So, with those traits in mind, one can consider the value
of this type of investigation.

We need material and definite things to survive, as well as the value of philosophy. Philosophy, in
my perspective, is where everything began, but it will not end. Philosophy provides a window through
which we can see the world and what lies beyond it, but it does not instruct us to look away because the
universe is simply too big to be exactly as we see it. We are far too dissimilar to be satisfied with where
we are and what we know, particularly in this age of creativity and advancement. Philosophy may not
provide a new version of a smartphone or a new automobile model, but it may provide us with limitless
possibilities far exceeding any luxury. Our minds were nourished by the endless possibilities of boundless
knowledge. To sum up, the importance of philosophy is considerably more than merely a topic that
students must take in order to pass a class; it is far more than that.
