Contemporary Arts 2nd Quarter

Local Materials Used as Applied to Contemporary Arts

1. What local and recyclable materials are used in creating artworks?

The recyclable materials that are used in creating artworks were through a wide range of
recyclables glass, cans, plastics, CDs, water bottles are the materials that were commonly used
for creating artworks.

2. Do you know of any place where we could find examples of these artworks?

I think mostly we can see these artworks at the Museums because it serves as long lasting
collections of what matters to the public, and do so by recording the history of the world's social
landscape through the exhibitions they choose to show. The museum's role is more than just conserving
or displaying different kinds of artwork. And also , the artist takes the location into account while
planning and creating the artwork.

3. Among the folk arts, what are you very familiar with? What can you say about how it is made
of?

In my opinion I’ve heard about this folk art called Inabel Folk Art this is made of for different
functions they can use it as a table cloth, blanket and even as a dress It has a lot of uses. This
inabel folk art was one of the traditional Ilocano handicrafts this is a hand weaving technique of
the Ilocano’s that is produced using traditional looms.
4. How would young generation learn to appreciate the kind of artworks mentioned in our
lesson.

In my own perspective, art works are appreciated by efforts and passion of our painters,
drawers and many more which uses an excellent taste of there opinion and own knowledge.
Nowadays, since pandemic is challenging artworks are well known as talent wherein
generations viewed this in their daily lives and called to be important as freedom of expression.
