Vivo has only just introduced its new (conventional) 2022 flagship smartphone as the X
Note. That, however, has not stopped the leak-machine forging right ahead with new tips on
what might be the next premium Android device to launch from the same brand.
The X80 Pro has been painted as the Dimensity 9000-powered counterpart to the first-gen
Note, and a poster slated to finally offer a shot of this device's looks in full might reinforce
that impression - the smartphone may even have a display similar to the new super-sized
phablet.
According to this apparently official Vivo poster, the upcoming device also has nearly the
exact same camera hump as the X Note, albeit with lenses re-arranged so as to draw even
more attention to its Zeiss branding in this case. On that note, it seems the X70 Pro successor
will get at least 1 Vario-Tessar lens this year, possibly with a T* treatment to boot.
The putative Xn0-series flagship may or may not replace its new Note cousin's ISOCELL
GN1 main camera with the Sony "IMX866", so as to maintain its line's reputation as mobile
photography specialists. That cannot be gleaned from its latest leak, however, although the
cosmetic glass window on its rear panel is now tipped to bear the legend "1.57-3.4/14-125
ASPH": a potential indication of its zoom properties.
Then again, the alleged promo fails to make any overt mention of Sony, MediaTek, or any
specific CMOS from either OEM for that matter. Should it prove genuine, however, it does
reveal the X80 Pro's launch date, which may thus be scheduled for April 25, 2022.
