DIET and WASH CAMP
What are the kinds of foods that may contribute to a healthful diet
and easy digestion?

PLAIN CRACKERS
- considered for easy digestion
- Have pleasing taste
- But people may not include this in their diet.
- Most of the digestive biscuit made from whole
wheat flour and oatmeal are good for digestion.

YOGURT
- The presence of billions of “friendly” bacteria in
a cup helps in digestion.
- They help control the growth of harmful bacteria
in the digestive tract, which aids in healthy
digestion.
- Also improve lactose digestion in people who are
lactose intolerant.

- It is known that brown rice is healthier option
especially for people who have
cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, but
white rice is digested quickly than brown
rice. Because the carbohydrates present in
white rice are converted to sugar easily,
white rice is digested quickly.

What are Communicable Diseases?

Communicable diseases or infectious diseases is


any illness that you can “catch” or can be passed from
one person to another.
There are different communicable diseases that
people experience every now and then. Knowing these
diseases would help you avoid them.
The table will help you learn about the common
communicable diseases.

How are
Communicable Diseases prevented?
Good personal habits guard you from pathogens and
prevent you from spreading infectious diseases. There are
several ways that you must follow and practice to prevent you
from acquiring diseases.

3. Stay and rest at home when sick.

4. Handle and prepare foods hygienically.

PROPER HAND WASHING

Steps to washing your hands properly


1. Wet your hands with clean — preferably running — water.
2. Apply enough soap to cover all surfaces of your hands and wrists.
3. Lather and rub your hands together briskly and thoroughly. Make sure to scrub
all surfaces of your hands, fingertips, fingernails, and wrists.
4. Scrub your hands and wrists for at least 20 seconds.
5. Rinse your hands and wrists under clean — preferably running — water.
6. Dry your hands and wrists with a clean towel, or let them air-dry.
7. Use a towel to turn off the faucet.
