TYPES OF CAMERAS
2. Mirrorless Camera
Is an emerging type of camera, being popular for its light and compact form.
From the name itself, it has no mirror therefore light goes directly to the sensor due to this
optical viewfinder is removed and replaced with electronic viewfinder or the small LCD
found on most cameras.
3. Action Camera
This type of camera is for the adventure seekers and adrenaline junkies, it is
perfect for outdoors. It can withstand rough weather conditions, lightweight, shockproof
and durable. Although it is mainly intended for motion picture it can also capture an image
but it does not have the same quality like a DSLR or Mirrorless Camera.
5. Smartphone Camera
Due to the fast innovation of technology, smartphones are getting good cameras.
All smartphones today come with dual cameras one in front and one at the back or it may
even have two to three cameras at the back. With the help of software smartphone
camera can capture images like DSLR Camera and Mirrorless Camera, it could also
capture videos like Digital Cine Camera.
MACRO
CAMERA LENSES
1. Prime Lenses
Used for: Street, Travel, and Portrait
• Fixed lens focal length
PRIME
• Faster & sharper
• Easy to travel with; lightweight
2. Zoom Lenses
• Uses a series of lenses; allows different focal lengths
• Bigger and heavier TELEPHOTO
• More flexible but not as fast as prime lenses WIDE ANGLE
o Macro Lenses
Used for: Extreme Close-up Shots or Macro Photography
Unique design that allows for very close shots
Great for nature photography
Captures enormous amount of detail
o Telephoto Lenses
Used for: Street, Portraits, Sports, Wildlife, Action, Nature, & Astronomy FISHEYE
Zoom lens with multiple focal points
Great at isolating subjects far away; narrowed field of view
Very large, heavy, and expensive
3. Wide Angle Lenses
Used for: Landscape and Architecture TILT SHIFT
• Almost everything is in focus; unless subject is close to lens
• Great if you want to fit a large into frame
4. Specialty Lenses
• Imparts a unique look and feel on photography
o Fisheye Lens
Used for: Abstract & Creative Photography
Ultra-wide-angle lens; 180 degree radius
Distort an image’s field of view
o Tilt Shift Lens
Distorts perspective; makes things look smaller than they really are.
