QUESTION

“The union between Tanganyika and Zanzibar to form Tanzania was initiated in
the Articles of the Union on 26Th April 1964. Articles of the Union created one
sovereign state with two-tier systems of governments, each with its own sphere
of competence in its respective areas of influence. However, since the inception of
the union, there have been several legal controversies surrounding the union.”
With the aid of current decided cases; the Constitution of the United
Republic of Tanzania,1977; and the Constitution of Zanzibar 1984 as
amended in 2010, discuss the above statement, in your discussion state to
what extent is the Proposed Constitution of Tanzania of 2014 addressed
those challenges.
