Number of Teachers: 3
Number of Students: 8
Age of children: 2

 When you first walk in the classroom to your left there are cubbies and to the right there

is a bathroom for the children. In front of the bathroom there is an art center, and the

sensory bin in right next to it. There are tables where the children can sit, and they eat

there as well. In the back-right corner, there is a loft/climber area for the children to play.

To the left back corner there is the dramatic play area with a kitchen set and a table in the

area. Along the left wall there are shelves which separate areas and hold books and

baskets filled with stuff for the children to play with. Behind the cubbies there is a group

area where the children also do puzzles and block center. On top of one of the shelves

there was their class pet, a bunny, named Bun Bun. The cage was up high enough that the

children can’t attempt to pick it up.

 The center areas have enough materials and the materials are in good condition. All of the

toys are age appropriate.

 There is no dead space. However, when the children are in the art area and the teacher is

sitting down the teacher can’t see the children in the group area because of the cubbies. If

you were in another spot of the room the teachers could see all of the areas.

 The classroom easily flows having all of the centers connected and not having any dead

space is nice because then the children won’t get distracted with dead space.
 I would give the classroom a 5 because there is room for every station and is able to have

enough room to play. Being able to play is very important as well as having enough space

to play which is how the classroom was set up.

 Strengths:

 Room for all of the stations

 Everything is child height

 Everything has a place for where it needs to be

 The teachers and children had a strong connection

 There was no denial for the children where they wanted to play

Improvement:

The blind spot that a teacher can’t see if he or she is sitting down

Have art more easily available (ex. Paint)

Let the children explore more learning areas

There could be an area for the children to read and it be a comfortable space for the

children, I know that the other room for 3-5-year old has an area for that

DAP:

Children develop best when they have secure relationships

All areas of development and learning are important

Learning and development follow sequences
