APPLICATION

1. If you were given a chance to inculcate the idea of patriotism and nationalism in people,
what strategies would you adopt or use?

If I am given a chance to teach the principles of patriotism and nationalism to the

people, I will do it in the following manner. While I am against blind populism, typical in
extremely patriotic cultures of mindless masses, I believe that an effective propaganda
campaign is vital. Patriotic anthems, military prayers, and countless flags exhibited across the
country fit together nicely. Patriotism and nationalism are excellent markers of a person's
attachment to their origin. I will continue to sing the national anthem and raise knowledge of
our modest past and society by promoting our goods and instruction in our schools to
encourage it. Nonetheless, unlike other countries, I will never go beyond that. Patriotism is a
journey of falling in love with your nation, developing a sense of belonging, and sharing feelings
with another citizen. Patriotism is valued in both the military and the cultural realms. At the
same time, nationalism defends a nation's political interdependence against other nations. It is
centered on the insatiable desire for power. In some ways, patriotism and nationalism have
comparable meanings, particularly emphasizing the value of belonging to a single nation. Both
patriotism and nationalism may be adopted and employed by inhabitants of a country since
they reflect good affection for our country and ideologies in fostering interest in a certain
nation for the benefit of everyone. To be a loyal citizen of a country, we cannot separate
patriotism from nationalism.

2. If you were a soldier required to render service to the victims  of flash flood, would you
rescue your family members in the same area first or assist the other victims and just let the
other rescuer aid your family instead?

First of all, I would help my family members trapped in the same situation. They are, in
essence, my family. Furthermore, they are a family and a community of individuals involved in
my purpose. I don't see anything wrong with assisting them first because they are closest to
me. My supervisor, I believe, would not object to my decision to prioritize my family's needs.
After assuring their safety, I would help individuals harmed by flash floods, like my family.
However, if the scenario indicates that my family can exist independently, I will apologize to
them for not prioritizing them. I'll start by looking for and assisting those most harmed by the
flash flood, and then I'll urge the other rescues to help my family. I hope they understand since
it is my responsibility to serve the community, whether or not it is my family. As a soldier, I will
prioritize other victims since it is my job to help and support those in need. I will enable other
troops to assist my family, especially if they are just nearby.

REFLECTION

1."The state shall promote a just and dynamic social order that will ensure the prosperity and
independence of the nation." In what way can the country's development be promoted?

The Philippines' widespread poverty is one of the long-term challenges that remains a
"threat" to the life of all disadvantaged Filipinos. The fundamental source of poverty is
unemployment, which causes significant social inefficiencies and hinders the country's growth
and economic advancement. Country development is accomplished by policies that offer
adequate social services to assist our fellow Filipinos, particularly those who are less fortunate
in life, in the fields of health, education, housing, and other services. Promoting full
employment, growing living standards, and enhancing the quality of life for all is one of the keys
to eradicating poverty and unemployment in a society with a just and dynamic social order.
Article II Section 9 of the Philippine Constitution of 1987 states, "free the nation and its
people from poverty, develop a humane society, and equalize work opportunities for
everyone." Overall, the goal of executing the numerous initiatives mentioned above is to serve
and uplift the lives of all Filipinos to advance and develop the country.

2. What is the vital role of the youth in nation-building?

Youth have a critical role in strengthening the country. It has the potential to aid a
country's growth and development. One step we may take is to be the voice in our society, to
speak up about what is good and wrong. The obligation and devotion to be a great servant and
a member of society begin inside ourselves by having the discipline and understanding our
duties to achieve and grow our ability to think critically and sense of civic responsibility in the
community. For example, teenagers voting wisely in political matters has a significant influence
that can benefit everyone.
We, as Filipinos, are not all utterly conscious of the necessity of voting for those who
are excellent and deserving of public office. Their magical words deceive us, and the large sums
of money they provide during campaign elections are often seen as generosity by other
Filipinos. However, shortly after the election, other politicians are no longer doing what they
did during the campaign, except a few who have shifted their focus to something else. Long-
term difficulties are not adequately addressed, and their claims are based on falsehoods.
Filipinos would be the ones who suffer as a result of the Government's reckless and inept
politicians. "Regret is usually at the end," as the saying goes.
There are times when we make decisions that do not turn out as well as we had hoped.
As a young person, be a voter concerned about the nation's future growth. Politicians'
candidates rely on us to fill our brains with understanding what is going on in our country, take
action to be intelligent in voting, and who we support. It is our job to have a positive impact on
others. Furthermore, using social media platforms to raise awareness about current concerns
and challenges might make a significant difference in the Philippines.
