Statement of Purpose
To,

Visa Officer
Australian High Commission
New Delhi, India

This is my great honor to introduce myself as XXXX representing permanently from Tauthali –
8, Sindhupalchok, Nepal. I was born in July 17, 1997. I am citizen of Nepal holding a passport
no . XXXX

For my academic progress till date, I have completed my School Leaving Certificate (SLC) level
from XXXX in 2013 with First division (78.25%) and then I have completed Proficiency
Certificate Level of Nursing from XXXX which is one of the most reputed campus of (CTEVT)
Council For Technical Education and Vocational Training in 2016 with Distinction (80.07%).
Then for my further study, I choose to study abroad. So, for that purpose, I gave IELTS exam on
11th Feb, 2017. As a result, I got overall 6.0.

I am interested for nursing course to enhance my further study in abroad in one of the finest
institution, which would magnify my potentiality in nursing field in near future. For this reason, I
start searching after the institution of nursing in various countries like USA, UK, Australia and
so on. Eventually, I found Australia is the third most popular International student destination
after USA and UK.

Australia is considered as global leader in education, which is one of the main reasons why
students around the world choose to pursue their studies in Australia. Institution in Australia
delivers the quality education with sound learning environment in a reasonable tuition fee. Also,
Australian government has provided various security systems concerning the International
Students. These facilities are ESOS Act (Education services for Overseas Students) which holds
the responsibility to look after all those institutions providing education to international students.
It has its concern which deals with the safety and rights of international students. Also, TPS
(Tuition Protection Scheme) of Australia deals for safe and secured fees for International

students. Australia has a good record, 8 out of 100 top universities in the world are in Australia.
Along with 5 out of 30 best cities are located in Australia. It is actually one of the safest
countries in the world for the International students emerging wide scope of success and
employment too. Moreover, I have found that it is one of the best places to have a great
experience of multi – cultural friendly environment, it provides quality assured education with
professional learning programs, Australian courses and degrees are globally recognized, it has
favorable weather for exploring and studying and so on, which attracts the students like me
globally. Therefore I choose Australia as my further education destination.

At present, Nepal is in developing state where a lot of health and environment issues are
prevalent. In case of higher study of nursing in Nepal, there are 5 accredited universities such as
Tribhuvan University of Nepal, Kathmandu University etc which has limited seats. So, the
competition is very tough for the students. Students are compulsorily needed to seat on tough
entrance exam. Though after successful completion of entrance exam, admission is not
guaranteed. As nursing is technical subject which has both theoretical and practical aspects but
there is no much more modern technology facilities as in foreign countries. Moreover, most of
the universities have yearly system which indirectly consumes much more time. Also due to
frequent public holidays the course is not completed on time which affects as improper timing of
results and exams. Apart from that, absence of globally recognized universities and traditional
method of teaching, time consuming education, and insufficiency of internationally recognized
professors are some of the weak aspects in Nepalese education system. That’s why I switch on to
get further study in Australia.

The Diploma of Nursing and Advanced Diploma of Nursing is also available in many other
countries but I decided to pursue my further education in Australia instead of other countries. I
research for USA, UK and other European countries for this course, where I find in USA the
student need to sit for a competitive exam like SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) or ACT
(American college testing ) which takes a lot of time . It is not safe as we used to listen gun
issues there. Likewise in UK, the currency value is really high. Similarly in USA and UK there
is no Tuition Protection Scheme. Despite these, Australian currency is a lot more economic to
international students comparing to USA and UK. In European countries, most of them use their
own language, so it is difficult for international students to adapt, even though fee structure is

cheap. Also, they do not guarantee the quality education for international students whereas
Australia guarantees the quality education for international students through ESOS Act.

Thereafter, making a good choice of institution is equally difficult as choosing the destination.
Ultimately, after a long analysis, I selected XXXX for the continuity of my education. The
XXXX is one of the leading providers of health and nursing education. It is located in 155 – 161
Boundary Road, North Melbourne VIC 3051, Australia. It offers accredited and internationally
recognized qualification in nursing. I also research on many other universities and colleges such
as University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australian Catholic University (ACU), Deakin
University etc but they have high tuition fees in comparison to SCEI. The annual tuition fee for
Bachelor of Nursing in University of Technology Sydney is AUD 31,560, in Australian Catholic
University is AUD 25600 and in Deakin University is AUD 28,043, whereas, the annual tuition
fee in XXXX of Diploma of Nursing and Advance Diploma of Nursing is AUD 16,000. This is
very affordable comparing to the stated other universities. I find XXXX as a suitable institution
as the best education destination for nursing as it provides comprehensive range of courses to
meet the workforce and service needs of community as well as it gives best practical knowledge
related skills and graduates are eligible for academic credit into higher degrees with partner
universities. Also it is centrally located within the suburb, providing students with a range of
public transport options including bus, tram and train. It combines fun interactive atmosphere
supplemented by an energetic method of teaching.

In addition to this, I would also like to state that my education backgrounds are correlated to the
course I have applied. And all of the qualifications I have achieved here in Nepal fulfill the
requirements to apply for Diploma of Nursing and Advance Diploma of Nursing in XXXX. My
course of Diploma of Nursing is accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
(NMBA) through which I can apply for registration with the NMBA as an enrolled nurse.

The main reason for choosing the Melbourne is, it is in the coastal capital of southeastern
Australia state of Victoria. It is the world’s most livable city and the second most populous city
in Australia. The basic attraction of Melbourne is lifestyles, multicultural community, climate,
education system, culture and environment. As for me the prime attraction is the wealth of

opportunities for international students like me. The stunning coastline, diverse nightlife and
food culture are some of the good reasons for choosing Melbourne.

I have chosen Diploma of Nursing and Advanced Diploma of Nursing instead of Bachelor’s
because course fee of this is affordable than Bachelor’s degree. Also, we are taught from basic
level of nursing course which will enhance my understanding in my subject matters and
ultimately it provides a strong foundation in studying Bachelor level. Also for Bachelor’s level
we need IELTS score overall band 6.5 but I have got only 6.0 which does not meet any
requirement to study Bachelor level directly. Also class size for Diploma course is small in
compare to Bachelor’s due to which we can get proper attention in class. In addition, after
completion of Advanced Diploma of Nursing course we can apply for Bachelors with credit
transfer facility. So, that the total investment will be low to complete Bachelors. This is why I
choose Diploma of Nursing and Advance Diploma of Nursing as a best option to study.

After successful completion of Diploma of Nursing and Advanced Diploma of Nursing, I will
apply for Bachelor of Nursing with all possible credits. Then, after completion of Bachelor’s in
Nursing I will apply for Post Study Work (PSW) which will be of 2 years so that , I can have
both international work experience as well as international degrees which leads my educational
degree to professional degree. As well it helps to promote my career growth in nursing field.
Upon returning back to home country after completion of PSW, I will apply for relevant job
position in the field of nursing in various top recognized Hospitals of Nepal such as Norvic
Hospital, Grande International Hospital, Teaching Hospital, Bir Hospital and so on. They are
renowned hospitals of Nepal. As Norvic hospital and Grande International Hospital are owned
by private sector which provides very good facilities to its staffs. They provide competitive
remuneration, tries to provide salary of international level, incentives, health facilities to staff
and family members. Moreover in Norvic Hospital and Grande International Hospital, they
provide staffs benefit commitment, continuous learning Facility, Cross training, skill
development, fun events and activities, flexibility, balance, leadership and a sense of community.
Likewise, Bir hospital and Teaching hospital are run by government. They also provide various
facilities to its staff member. Since, it is government funded, job is guaranteed for long time.
Also, there are many good facilities after retirement as well.

I am well aware of my Visa condition, as I am applying for student Visa under Visa subclass
500. Visa subclass 500 was recently introduced by Australian government since July 01, 2016
and I am fully aware of the student’s obligation under this visa subclass. I am fully attentive with
the fact that all international students who wish to study in Australia must be enrolled at
registered educational institution. Furthermore, under Visa subclass 500; I must study and
complete my course with full dedication and have to maintain a minimum of 80% attendance for
the full duration of study, I am granted to work for 40 hours a fortnight. I must need to prepare
for my health insurance, it must be notify the department of immigration and border protection
and the institution, if there is any change in residential address or contacts.

I am well aware of my annual expenses which includes tuition fee of AUD 16,000/-, living cost
of AUD 19,830/-, and travelling cost of AUD 2000/- . And my OSHC fee is AUD 1,190/- which
covers from 24-07-2017 till 16-02-2020. Furthermore, I would like to state that my parents are
going to sponsor for my education as well as entire expenses during my stay in Australia.

In addition, I am well aware about GTE (Genuine Temporary Entrant), where requirement
applies to all student visa applicants and considers whether the individual circumstances of the
student indicate that their intention is for temporary stay in Australia. A genuineness assessment
is made by taking into account a number of personal factors relating to the student, such as their
immigration history, circumstances that might encourage the student to return to their home
country and conditions that might encourage them to stay in Australia.

I have got the overall information about the necessary rules and regulation I have to follow. It
would be my great honor, if you would consider my appeal and grant me visa to continue my
further study at XXX.

I am looking forward for getting your positive response.

Thank you

Your Sincerely

XXXX
